Stricklin hits the ball out of the park

Georgia Baseball coach Scott Stricklin has named Jeff Guy, Operations Manager for the non-profit East Cobb Baseball, Inc. as Georgia Baseball's Director of Operations. Just an incredible hire.

Check out Guy's resume. His knowledge of Georgia high school baseball, and his connections to East Cobb baseball in particular are awesome.

Wow. Thirty years around the diamond in the state of Georgia. Tremendous hire.

Kind of makes you wonder why nobody thought to do something like this sooner.

Definitely being strategic about hiring in a way other sports just flat out have refused to be.

Didn't the football program hire a coach from South GA as some type of director of on-campus recruiting or something? With the high level of baseball played in Cobb County, and metro Atl in general, this seems like a no-brainer.

Daryl Jones was the director of Under Armor's camps. He was HC at North Oconee and Grayson, as well as holding plenty other HS coaching positions. He is now Dir of Recruiting for Football. Another very good hire.

If we took the same approach with AAU basketball coaches or executives...
