  3. Last year the ACC beat the SEC 7-5. I think if the only ACC wins this year were GT over Moo State and Vandy.

  4. Nice to see that I wasn't the only one hoping to beat the Bugs just to shut St. Simons up!

Great game by the Dawgs. A real team effort. For once JC didn't have to carry the team and force any errors.

Willie looked sad and I feel for him, but it is time for a real DC to come on board.

  5. Reshad Jones played lights out.

My next dog will be named Russ.

I will be up until at least 4am, I'm so jacked up.

What was CPJ thinking throwing late? Was he worried about the clock?

    How 'bout them dawgs!

    How 'bout em!

The genius PJ called 4 consecutive passing plays to end the game? WTF? A gift of Reggie Ball proportions.

Don't know why Bobo puts JC in the gun to pass it on 3rd and short. Other than that, nuthin but "at a boys"

  8. Already I'm hearing from Techies about how Nesbitt was hurt. Well, we were without our best player, AJ, and we've been starting what is essentially a second string quarterback all year (glad Cox went out on a win, I don't doubt his heart or love for the program, but he was a liability at points this year). And how bout King and Ealey. We beat GT at their own game.

please please please if any of you are going to Tampa's World's smallest outdoor cocktail party, either out of boredom, blackmail, or sympathy, consider hanging a sign like that above. Might I suggest a (Georgia g) go tigers...to hell with Georgia tech! And maybe "jungle cats beat geeky gnats"

q, I know you're not much for posting photoshop contests and the like, but it may be a good way to really rub salt in their Johnson.

  10. I'm jacked too Evan!

I think CPJ had no choice but to throw the ball late. We completely shut down the inside run, and did a good job of shutting down the rest of the triple threat. The pass... well, we were kinda slack on that, until that last drive.

How about NO PUNTS for the game? One of our best players didn't even play.

    That running game was beautiful.

  16. Thanks, CPJ, for throwing for the endzone with a minute and a half to play. I appreciate it.

  18. What was CPJ thinking throwing late? Was he worried about the clock?

He was trying his damndest to get an interference call.

Evans dumping Gatorade on Richt with 1:50 to play was classic. Somebody should have stopped that concussed loon.

But I am happier now than the day we won the National Championship in 1980.

8 out of the last 9! How sweet it is.

  25. Quinton, who in the SEC east could GTU beat besides Vandy? Add them to the East and they come in SIXTH, with Vandy falling to seventh.

I guess they could beat the fake Bulldogs in the west, at least, this year.

  27. I didn't talk smack before the game because I didn't think we'd win so I'm not going to talk smack after the game either. The coaches and players stepped up and got it done. Hats off to everyone. I even went to the gym during the second quarter. I recorded it in HD so I'm about to re-watch it on the big screen now. :)

I picked us to lose in the Pick'em and I'm still 3rd overall, b*tches!

  28. I want one of those Georgia/S Carolina ACC shirts! lol

  29. don't forget they were coming off a bye too. Genius Johnson needed two weeks and our staff still coached circles around him. ALL THE WAY TURNT UP!!! I loved the Redcoats playing that song and then doing the zombie nation jump up and down thing after the game. Hahaha

  30. Dawgnoxious:

Thank goodness you don't decide about playing this rivalry game. Hadn't felt this good after a UGA win since the 2007 UF game.

It never gets tiring seeing those nerds faces after beating them. NEVER!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well played dogs. That was a beat down through and through. That had nothing to do with Nesbitt being hurt or the dropped pass at the end. If our defense couldn't stop hand off up the middle after hand off up the middle, there is no way we deserve to win. We needed to force Joe Cox to beat us, and we couldn't do it. Hats off to the dogs.

  32. I noticed Richard Samuel hasn't gotten any carries the last 3 games. Is he pretty much done on the offensive side the way Ealey is playing?`

  34. I'm still in Dawgnoxious' corner on the "rivalry."

I'm enjoying this because we beat the #7 team in the country, and because I haven't had much to savor this season.

But, when you go beyond this season and into historical context, the weightier part of the phrase "in-state rival" is the first part. I don't care about Tech. I've never lived in Atlanta, and I was born after the '50s. Depending on where you start from, Tech wins about the same percentage of games against us that South Carolina or Ole Miss wins. You take away the wins that were nearly vacated by the NCAA due to Tech cheating and you're talking about a series where one side has had one clean win since 1990. Our series with Vandy is more competitive.

An arbitrary geographic distinction and a few mouthy commenters on the Internet are the only reasons anyone gives a shit about this game. Sub 'em out for Clemson and you get a more competitive series for the same mileage.

  35. You know, on Friday I said to myself, "Why are you paying 75 dollars to go watch a game that we will most likely lose?" Shame on me for ever thinking that. That was an awesome game all the way; we played our damn hearts out and took it to em. The best part is that we completely dominated them in the run game. Awesome.

Oh and I just saw the post about taking Tech off the schedule. Worst idea I've ever heard. I might have entertained the idea while we were on our win streak, but the loss last year (my last home game as a student), I remembered how much I hate the nerds. I hope Dan Magill doesn't read the blog...

  36. I was hoping for a win, what I got was the best early Christmas present ever. It's great to be a bulldawg today. Guess the nerds will have to wait another year to make their 2nd championship ring.

  37. Samuel suffered a concussion in practice on Tuesday, which is ostensibly why he didn't play Saturday.

But despite that, the answer to your question is probably still yes. There's just not much that he does that Ealey or King or both doesn't do better. By next year, I'd expect to either see him playing linebacker for us or running back for Furman.

  38. Whoever said that GT tried to sell Herschel on ACC football was lying

Pretty sure on that ... They weren't a full ACC member until after he left.

GREAT GREAT GREAT to be a georgia bulldog! We own this state! Enjoy this for 365 days guys, lets remind tech fans every day as they did us!

    side note

PWD- When should we expect a official announcement on Martinez resigning from DC? The look on his face combined with many of the rumors i heard this week that his fate was already decided is what makes me ask this question.

i think it needs to be announced today and have the replacement announced by wednesday at the latest.. whoever it is will have to hit the road big time to convince the recruits to stay committed.. first place i'd start is newnan with alec ogeltree.. did you see the game he had the other night vs grayson?!

  41. Hopefully CPJ is typing a new resume and faxing to South Bend. Maybe Tech can hire Al Groh.

  42. How bout them dawgs! How bout CMR doing his best Saban impersonation, I loved it! Losing sucks, glad to see him get fired up and upset when we screwed up. King and Ealey and the offensive line dominated, kept seeing jackets falling like flies and knew we could wear 'em down in the end. Still not thrilled with the defense, we tried to give away a few times but they wouldn't take it. Our next DC is...?

    Congratulations.

We have a lot more work to do, and the ACC sucks. The ACC should lose its automatic bid over this weekend.

Give it to the MWC. At least they can with when something's on the line.

  44. wow tech won their division ? who do they play next marist ?

    ReplyDelete
  45. You don't really think GT and Clemson would finish fifth in the East do you? Based on them each losing a rivalry game with a conference championship looming a week ahead? Those teams on a normal week:

    a) would beat their SEC rival probably about 6-7 out of 10 times (this year)

    b) beat the Kentuckys of the world

Sure, Tech would not be 10-1 if in the SEC, but the only teams absolutely better than them week in and out are Florida and Alabama, and possibly LSU. Yes, Georgia beat them in one game. Doesn't mean they finish below them with the same schedule. Not at all.
