I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean no harm.

An independent commission examining the relationship between Auburn University Trustees and Auburn's athletics department recommended Auburn's Trustees should be required to sign a statement affirming their commitment not to meddle in the management of the school's athletics programs.

Other recommendations included a "zero-tolerance" policy in which cheating coaches would be fired for violating NCAA rules.

Metaphorically speaking, Ike Turner is being asked to sign a promise to quit beating Tina.

Good luck with that.

[Reached for comment, Bobby Lowder might say, "C'mon momma-- I didn't mean it. We had some good times, didn't we? Let's work this out."]
