Redcoat Band Tribute to Hartman

ToonDawg, a former Redcoat and owner of the legendary Anti-Orange Page, says that the Redcoat Band spelled out Bill Hartman's name on the field instead of GEORGIA to honor him at the 1994 Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game. If my own memory serves, that was the last game he coached at UGA.

Her photograph of the moment is below. Now THAT is how you know that you're the Alpha Dawg.

Toon Dawg.... How can I not remember that? I don't. Could it have been earlier?

It was definitely the 1994 Tech game, because I remember being disappointed that I didn't get to spell out GEORGIA for my last game as a Redcoat. But then I did some reading about Hartman, and I feel honored to have spelled out his name instead. :-) I pulled that picture out from my senior year scrapbook. My uncle went to the 50 yard line and took a lot of pictures of our show (MOON RIVER!!!!!!!!) since it was my last one, so that's how I got a picture of spelling out HARTMAN.
