ESPN College Gameday at LSU vs. VT

I took some time this off season to try and predict the site for each ESPN College Gameday Visit. It took a lot of time, and I was quite proud of my work. Unfortunately, immediately after releasing the first set of predictions, ESPN moved their schedule around to accommodate the VT vs. ECU "healing" game.

It looked like the trickle down of that decision was going to wreck my first few predictions. But I'm back on track. With ND's implosion vs. Georgia Tech, Mickey Mouse's favorite pre-game show isn't heading to Happy Valley for PSU vs. Notre Dame. Instead it's going to Baton Rouge where it belongs.

Baring something wildly unforeseen, I'll have nailed Week 3 as well for USC vs. Nebraska. Week 4 looks shot to hell by UM though. I seriously doubt they'll be at the UM vs. PSU game now.

I also can't figure out Week 4.

Here's the most interesting matchups:

Iowa @ Wisconsin
Georgia @ Alabama
Penn State @ Michigan
Washington @ UCLA

I think that if Bama somehow beats Arkansas and both teams are 3-0, we'll get another road Gameday. It'll all be Saban-centric and absolutely nobody will be picking UGA.

Otherwise my bet is Madison. Neither team has much chance of losing before 9/22.

So UGA@Bama has to be a prime candidate, huh?

If it is closely matched like this tWWL will pick an ABC conference game. CBS should start its own show "SEC Gameday" and go to the top SEC game that week. I bet it would steal a lot of viewers.

Boycott Gameday. It is a garbage show dedicated to promoting games feature on tWWL.

ESPN has a deal with the SEC. It's a better deal than they have with the Pac-10.

In 2006, they hit 4 SEC home games. By comparison:

ACC - 2
Big East - 0
Big 12 - 2
Pac-10 - 2
SEC - 4
Big 10 - 5

2005 Home games for ESPN Gameday:
ACC - 3***
Big East - 1
Big 12 - 1
Pac 10 - 2
SEC - 2***
Big 10 - 3
***They were schedule for 1 more SEC game and 1 less ACC game, but Hurricane Rita moved them out of Baton Rouge.

Other than the titanticly stupid move of being at USC vs. Neb last year instead of UF/LSU, they're not that far off the mark.
