The Tigers are 1-2 with losses to South Florida and Mississippi State, two programs better known for failure and poverty (respectively) than for football domination. The State of Alabama media and the Auburn bloggers are in rare form over the loss:
- Leaking more oil than the Exxon Valdez - Paul Finebaum
- Tuberville playing Silly Games - B'Ham News
- Hanging in the Balance - B'ham News
- Losing Season Likely - Huntsville Times
- Ships Passing in the Night - B'Ham News
- Tough Decisions to Make - TurnerLoose
- Did Tubby get Croomed? - AU's Fanhouse
- Dixieland Disaster - Track 'Em Tigers
- That's my Purse - Joe Cribbs' Car Wash (my favorite)
- Croomed! - From the Bleachers
- New Mexico State (W) - a chance to get Kodi Burns some QB reps before UF
- at Florida (L) - A near certain loss
- Vandy (W) - A chance to regroup after the UF thrashing. Although, Vandy is better than Miss State, and it's another likely early start which Tuberville fairs so poorly in.
- at Arkansas (Toss Up?) - AU didn't stop ARK last year. Why would they this year? At best a toss up.
- at LSU (L) - A beat down of epic proportions seems likely.
- Ole Miss (W) - they can wipe away the shame from the trip to Baton Rouge
- Tennessee Tech (W) - a chance to get healthy before Athens.
- at Georgia (Toss Up?) - Given their ownership of our facility, this is a toss up. We'll know more about UGA around midnight on Saturday.
- OFF WEEK
- Alabama (Toss Up?) - anything can happen in a rivalry game, but this looks tough for AU.
Why would I even write about this during Bama week?
All the negative press for Auburn hasn't gone unnoticed in Tuscaloosa. Almost every negative article about Auburn is a also a love fest for Fighting Sabans. The compare and contrast nature of last weekend is unavoidable. If there were ever a week where your opponent might be "reading his press clippings" this is it.
Momentum favors Bama this weekend against the Dawgs. But so do the distractions.
