UGA vs. Ole Miss Kickoff at 1:00 pm (No TV)

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Saturday, Sept. 29, SEC football game between Georgia and Ole Miss will kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The game was not selected as part of the SEC television package so it will not be televised live. The game will be delay telecast on CSS as usual. A six-day option was exercised but does not affect the Georgia-Ole Miss game. The television lineup for SEC teams that day:
    ESPN2 -- LSU at Tulane (C-USA package)
CBS -- Alabama vs. FSU or Auburn at Florida
LFS -- Mississippi State at South Carolina
ESPN -- Alabama vs. FSU or Auburn at Florida
Source: UGA

PWD Note: It's the first game I can remember in a while that we've played an SEC game that wasn't televised. Anyone remember the last time that happened? (Update: lots of examples below including 2 from last year)

I may be wrong, but I don't remember Miss St being on TV last year. I was in a hotel room in New Orleans watching Yahoo gamecast because we couldn't find it on TV anywhere.

Last year's Kentucky game was not broadcast in the middle Georgia area anywhere. I have no idea if CSS showed it live up in north Georgia. It was the first time in a long time that a Georgia game wasn't even up for pay-per-view in this area.

Yeah PWD, both Anon's are right. Neither Vandy nor Kentucky were televised live last year. Vandy had the usual CSS replay. Kentucky was on tape delay the same day on SportSouth.

Yeah...I don't think Mississippi St. was on TV either last year.

Hey, I know you had a post a while ago about finding UGA bars, can anyone help me with one in DC?

Darn it.

No Gameplan either.

Is it 2007.

How much does running four digital cameras and no commentary cost??????

How is our game less of a draw than Miss St v. SC? That makes no sense to me.

Or really...LSU and Tulane?

What idiot thinks there's better ratings in watching the Tigers go for a 70+-to-nothing drubbing of their hapless, wealthy neighbors?

The DC Dawgs meet at the Crystal City Bar and Grill. Only one Metro stop from DC proper.

the LSU game is at Tulane. It's being picked up by the CUSA TV package. It doesn't have anything to do with our TV coverage.

The problem with the TV coverage is that they cannot use a time slot more than once for PPV - so, since they blew the 1:00 slot on WCU, no PPV unless they pick another time slot. I can't remember the details but it has something to do with the SEC and network contracts etc.

Georgia and Ole Miss are arguably the two worst teams in the conference this year. Last year, the two teams played a 14-9 stinker.

South Carolina and Mississippi State, each coming off solid wins with interesting coaches in Spurrier and Croom is by far a better TV draw.

Georgia and Ole Miss are arguably the two worst teams in the conference this year?????? I would love to here this arguement. Please, tell me how this is true.

How can they be the two worst in the conference after Auburn has just blown two home games in a row??

Who is worse in the Western Division than Ole Miss? One could argue MSU until last week's win over Auburn and Ole Miss' loss to Vanderbilt.

Who is worse in the Eastern Division than Georgia? Hard to argue anyone else as every team in the East holds a winning streak against the Bulldogs.

Assuming this week's games go as Vegas expects them to go, there will be only two SEC teams at 0-2.

This makes for an easy TV decision.

True, Kentucky and Vandy both beat us last year, however, that in no way constitutes a "winning streak" against the Dawgs. Florida is the only team in the SEC that holds a "winning streak" against UGA. Last year's losses were just that, last year's losses. After an ugly game against South Carolina, the Dawgs still have a chance for a nice season and a Top 10 finish.

anonymous-are you stupid or what-you better check the win/loss records!!!! UGA has beaten all but Fla more times than they have beaten us!!!!!

Has FL really caught up? I know we at the turn of the century GA still had more wins. (we were up over 20 games before Spurrier showed up)

Roll Tide! Ole Miss / GA should definitely be on TV. Ole Miss is about to break out and start winning...they have been getting great recruits the last couple of years...look what they about did to FL last Sat. GA...well, they are a good team...they beat BAMA. Ole Miss has a brighter future than Miss St and I think GA is a better draw than SC...with or without Spurrier.
