Stafford Kicks It & Munson Stays Home

Dave Gladow of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has this video of the Dawgs practice yesterday in the Superdome. It's mostly interviews, but there is a glimpse of Matt Stafford attempting a 50 yard field goal. He's got a nice follow through, even if we don't see it go through the uprights.

Gladow has video of Hawai'i's practice, too.

In other Sugar Bowl news of note, Larry Munson has changed his mind and decided not to make the trip to New Orleans. Scott Howard and Eric Zeier will call the game. It sounds like Larry's physical ailments continue and may be worsening. He will call into the pregame show apparently, but won't otherwise contribute to the broadcast. Get well, Larry!

I hope Larry is ok. You never want to see anyone in their old age like that get in a bad situation with their health.

I think Stafford kicking is hilarious and im sure the guys are just having fun out there, but is it just me or wouldn't the coaches be concerned about him pulling something possibly since he doesn't know how to kick properly?

If, God forbid, something did happen to Coutu, I'd rather see Stafford kick than Andy Bailey.

Amen!

WHy has Bailey looked like a deer in headlights everytime he is forced to kick a PAT. Are they secretly sending Sean Bailey out there? Who kicks for us next year?

I would think Blair walsh will come in and compete if he is as good as advertised.

Is Butler a kicker or a punter next year?

Can he do both if he's a punter?
