Sugar Bowl Tickets Tightening Up?

On Friday, the Sugar Bowl released an additional 500 tickets to the Warriors. As many of you have read by now, the Warriors panicked on the Friday before the SECC Game. The Sugar Bowl pressured them into giving up 5,000 (which later became 4,000) tickets to the SEC Host Team.

Hawaii's athletic director thought that they wouldn't have the demand to sell all 17,500 tickets in his initial allotment so he gave up at least 4,000 tickets to Georgia. Demand has far exceed his expectations as Hawaii fans are gobbling up tickets like crazy. The 13,500 tickets allotted to Hawaii almost entirely found their way into the hands of season ticket holders. Mainland Warrior fans are being forced to use after market sources to get their tickets.

Over the past 72 hours, the minimum asking price on Stubhub for Sugar Bowl tickets has risen about $25/ticket. They're back starting at around face value.

It'll be interesting to see how many Hawaii fans show up in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. Do you have your tickets yet?

500 tickets is less than eight tenths of a percent of the total number of tickets.

THat's why I said the ticket was still tightening up. Not loosening up.

You do realize he (they) may want to do it, but you don't have to watch it don't you? You lose the remote or something?

According to a Hawaii newspaper, when asked about the situation bowl officials denied pressuring Hawaii into giving tix back and claimed it was the decision of Hawaii athletics to do so.
