CBS Delays TV Decision for UGA vs. LSU

Georgiadogs.com is reporting that CBS will wait until next week to announce which game they will select for the 3:30 EST kickoff on Oct. 25th. Their options are (Current AP Ranking):
    #10 Georgia at #13 LSU
    ------ or ------
    #2 Alabama at (Unranked) Tennessee
One game will air at 3:30 pm on CBS, and the other game will air at 7:45 pm on ESPN. I would assume that the reason for the delay is the multiple moving pieces involved with that week's games.
  • The Bama Factor - If Missouri were to upset #1 ranked Texas in Austin, the Tide could be traveling to Knoxville as the #1 team in the country to play their bitter enemy.

  • The Car Crash Factor - Phil Fulmer could be playing for his life next week against his arch enemy as they pursue a national title.

  • The What if UGA or LSU Blow It Factor - Our match-up with the Tigers will lose its luster if the Dawgs fall to Vanderbilt or LSU drops one at South Carolina.

  • The LSU Really Wants to Play UGA at Night Factor - Obvious. Although, I don't really think it has any bearing on anything.

  • The CBS is Lousy at Picking Games Factor - CBS really sucks at picking games this season. They have missed out on Auburn vs. LSU, Auburn vs. Vanderbilt, Alabama vs. Georgia (not their fault), and Georgia vs. Vanderbilt so far. In each case, the two teams had a higher average ranking than the game that aired on CBS.
I think we're going to play LSU at 3:30 pm. But clearly, what do I know. CBS hasn't behaved in a logical fashion for much of the year. (ht -jaxdawg_95 on DawgRun)

Not taking Vanderbilt is not a mistake as far as business decisions go. Vandy greatly lowers their viewership.

It really comes down to they have 0 confidence that LSU will win this saturday. If LSU takes care of business satuday then it will be a CBS game.

A thousand dollars says they take Bama/UT over our game with LSU. That's how they do.

This season could turn into a dumpster fire if we have to play LSU at night the week before Florida. LSU is the loudest stadium I've ever been in anyway, and that was without giving them an extra 3 hours to get liquored up(although I don't know how that would be possible anyway). Here's hoping against logic for 3:30.

The UGA/LSU game is not as crucial to our chances of winning the East as UGA/UF. So I predict zero chance of a "dumpster fire". Although I did get a laugh out of it.

Considering CBS' panache for picking crappy games, they will pick 'Bama and UT....and it will be a beat down. Bama by 50, easily. Personally, I feel the Georgia/LSU tilt is going to be a precurser to the SEC Bowl in December. 'Bama has got to stub it's toe before the end of the year.

"Dumpster fire"?! ha, hahahaha. I like that Matt!

I am kind of leanin toward a BAMA upset. I think TENN will go in with a cant lose mindset. Fulmer knows he is gone if this game is a blowout. He has to put all his chips in. I do want BAMA for the conference in ATL though.

Wes...be careful of what you wish for.

Wes, I completely agree with you, I hope to see Bama in the Sec championship in ATL, because if we beat LSU,FLA, and Bama, all close to top 10 teams we should be guaranteed a national birth
