What can a bowl do for Georgia?

Rennie Curran (Image by Hipple)

David Ching discusses what this bowl could do for the Georgia attitude going into the off season, and he compares this season's bowl to last year's. The basic thinking is that a win won't smooth over all our rough edges, but an ugly defensive affair will most certainly make things more difficult for the coaching staff.

My prediction on this game is similar to my prediction on most Georgia games where we have a large talent advantage....if we show up pissed off and ready to play we'll win big.

I hope we win, but I hope we show the same defensive crap out like we did all year. I'm with Ching, CMR and CWM don't need to sail into the offseason thinking the defense is okay.

Strangely, I would like to see a horrific defensive performance whereby we eek out a win on a last second fg or the like. That would keep the heat on WM and be a boost for Walsh.

I still believe our entire defensive staff should receive a pay cut for the abysmal performance of 2008. F'ing pathetic.

Pay cut? More like 14% raise.

Yeah, pay cut, good thinking. That way we could end this loyalty crap and get rid of coaches like Searles and Garner.
Genius.

Dan,
It's called a tongue-in-cheek comment. I believe that coaches, just like every other professional manager in the world, should be judged and compensated based on their performance. That's certainly the way of capitalism.

You don't get raises for failure and ineptitude.

Compensation cuts *or* non-raises and loyalty are mutually exclusive. If you didn't hold some bullsh*t government job you'd understand.

Apparently, these time-tested principals are lost on some of the less-motivated.

Nothing!

PWD, we haven't won big all year regardless of competition (well, there was Central Michigan).

1) Is Central Michigan UGA's biggest quality win of the season?
2) Principles
3) I was wondering if Dawgnation would trade a loss to MSU in exchange for getting rid of Martinez?
4) Isn't working for UGA a government job?

What can a bowl do for Georgia? Nothing, because it's a glorified exhibition. It means nothing more than G-Day.

Sure thing Dan. I'll call you when I need a new landscaper.
