Dwyer spent too much time at the Thanksgiving table.

Too much fried chicken and watermelon?

Bruce - That's a cheap racial comment. I'm going to keep deleting it. You're making yourself look like an ass.

Can someone please tell me why CMR didn't call a timeout at the end of the 1st half? There were about 20 seconds left and would've made GT punt on 4th and 17 rather than go for the hail mary. I'm tired of Richt not putting his foot on the throat of an opposing team and dictating the game. What if the Hail Mary is caught? What if there's a pass interference penalty? CPJ wouldn't try the hail mary if there was time left on the clock. It sickens me that we let GT control the end of the half. Any thoughts?

Yes, I think you're an A$%hole.

We won the game. Why are still digging at CMR? Thank God he is not as big of an idiot as Les Miles! He went for the throat on the 55 yd fg. Then left it up to the D.Honestly 340 yds rushing is pretty much a choke hold! That's why we play the second half. Just wondering why would you even bring that up?

Re: Justin Houston in the first pic--
Houston is now 7th in the country in tackles for loss and 16th in the country in sacks.

IF we manage to keep Montez Robinson (looking less likely every day now that he's been arrested, too), pass rushing should not be a problem next year.

I did not expect Georgia to win that game. Georgia Tech's versatility did not pay off and they were physically abused the entire game. Georgia swarmed to the ball and embarassed Dwyer and Co.

How does this hurt Tech's chances of getting into the BCS hoopla if they win the ACC? Will the ACC, a BCS Conference, get shut out of the BCS jubilations? The ACC has been one of the more consistent conferences in all of Division 1 and I suspect they will get the nod over TCU or Boise St.

By the way, the pictures look amazing..Clean, old fashioned hate. UGA representing and you know what, Georgia played like a pack of UGAs. Good luck the rest of the way boys!

I have rewatched the game on high def three times already. I also have the KY and Auburn games but haven't watched those once.

Dan, how does that make me an asshole? It is a legitimate concern. I'm a fan of CMR and while yes I'm digging at this, don't want him to go anywhere. I just think it's worth noting we could've made them punt, go for the block or make GT snap it over his head. You never know what could happen. Especially with GT getting the ball in the 2nd half. Just trying to get others thoughts on the topic. Most fans talk about trying to "put the game away" and UGA's lack of doing so in the past. This might have been an opportunity that we missed to add to our lead or at least end the half our way rather than have GT end it their way.

Personally at that point I have no problem with going in up 14 points.

It did make us look kind of asslike to have to trudge back out of the tunnel when Johnson called time out though.

I think that would have also given them an opportunity to make a first down. Then they would have been much more likely to put points on the board. They had a great receiver. We didn't cover anyone all season until the end of this game. They did pretty well on at least one other long fourth down conversion. They seem to love to go for them.
That's just the flip side as I see it. But, I've never been in the arena.

Sampson - what the hell are you talking about?

Jon Gruden '10 said...

yeah, i was wondering the same thing sampson..

obviously you dont keep up with college football very closely..

there are automatic BCS conferences which means that the winners of the ACC,SEC,BIG 12, BIG 10, BIG EAST, and the PAC 10 are assured of a spot in a bcs game.

rose bowl- pac 10 champ vs big 10 champ

fiesta- big 12 champ

sugar- SEC champ

orange- ACC champ

so if georgia tech wins the ACC then they are automatically in the BCS..

I actually agree with you. PJ only did what he did because we didn't call a time out. He let the clock run down to 3 seconds cause he knew that would only leave 1 play even if it was a sack.If CMR calls a TO with plus 30 seconds left then PJ punts the ball. There have been numerous times in CMRs career that we have had the ball around mid field and he took a knee to end the half. Even if we don't block it there, Prince Miller had a 92 yd punt return vs Bama last year. I agree with you.

But if GT punts the ball we could also fumble it or rough the punter. There were downsides as well as upsides.

I am still very happy to go in up 14 at that point.

We didn't have to put a returner in there, just rush 11 and go for the block.
