Mark Fox out coached Andy Kennedy

I'm a big fan of Andy Kennedy sex life jokes. However, I also believe he is one of the better game coaches in the conference. His ability to keep Marshall Henderson's emotions in check and how he uses Henderson, both to get him the ball and to help open up other players, is really impressive.

And Kennedy got out coached by Mark Fox yesterday.
  • How he used Kenny Gaines was quite impressive. Gaines was the only player who could guard Marshall Henderson effectively. He also had the hot hand, and consider how inconsistently Henderson plays defense, that is important.
  • He created a two for one at the end of the game that ended up being the difference maker. All of this after Marcus Thornton gets rung up on a foul while getting a Code Red from several Ole Miss players.
  • His handling of the officials was masterful, especially with how inconsistent the officiating was.
  • The play at the end of the game was easily the best drawn up play we've had out of a timeout in over a year.
While it helps that we won, that Marshall Henderson nearly punched someone, and Fox didn't get a technical despite his best efforts, I felt Fox was really on his game with how he managed the players on the floor and our defense when we fell behind early.

And impressively, we didn't fall apart, start taking terrible shots, and continued to play tough down low. We are starting to look like a legit post-season eligible team.

The Georgia student section totally pwned Henderson with "Marshall's Angry!" Hilarous. Loved it.

It took me a minute to figure out what they were saying. Kept hoping it was the game that he snapped in. Alas, I'll take the win.
