Dawgs Pre-Game Videos Fire Up the Team

You can help me.
Whatever comes out of these gates,
We have a better chance of survival
If we work together. Do you understand?
We stay together, we survive.
-- Maximus Decimus Meridius

Coach Tereshinski (JT3's dad) is the video coordinator for the Bulldogs. Since Richt has been at Georgia, Coach T has put together these 3-5 minute videos which weave together major movies, team highlights and interviews with current players to set the mood and reinforce the message of the week.

The groups that have seen these videos include Gridiron for Gals, Football 101 for Women, Athens TD Club (I think) and the audience at the Senior Awards Gala. The quality of these montages are extremely high. LSU does something similar. To get an idea for what we're talking about in terms of quality, check out their 2003 SEC Championship Pre-game video. (found at DandyDon's LSU site)

At the senior awards gala, we watched the 2005 Tennessee Game video that the team watched in Neyland Stadium 90 minutes prior to kickoff. The video combined clips from Gladiator with clips from 2001-2005 UT battles and interviews with the team.

The video started with shots from the movie showing the size of the Roman Coliseum, the ancient crowd going crazy, and then it began working in clips from the Neyland Stadium crowd. Then it shows Jason Allen planting the Vol flag in the middle of Sanford Stadium post-game 2004.

Next it shows Maximus standing in the middle of the Roman Coliseum floor with this helmet on surrounded by the other gladiators and he says, "How many of you have served in the Army before?" One of the men behind him says, "I have." His response:
"You can help me. Whatever comes out of these gates, we have a better chance of survival if we work together. Do you understand? We stay together, we survive."

Then as the gates of the Coliseum open, the video cuts to the UT players going nuts in their tunnel. The video then cuts to DJ Shockley. He looks into the camera and says, "How many of you have fought in this arena before?"

Golston and Anderson are next on camera. They respond "I have." More clips from past games with KG and Gerald kicking ass and busting heads. Then Max, Moses, Pope, Blue, Minter and others all come on the screen and one by one say, "I have" followed by clips of them stomping Vol butt.

Clips from recent Vol games crank up. All fast paced and electric with the epic Gladiator soundtrack blaring. Then back to the movie. It shows most of the best fight scene of the movie as the gladiators withstand the initial charge of Legionairres only to turn the tide and destroy them all.

At the same time the video shows UGA falling behind in the 2001 game, only to come from behind and win on Verron Haynes' catch. Heavy doses of Sean Jones fumble return are worked in as well.

As this is wrapping up. The video closes with Shockley looking into the camera again and says "If we stay together, we survive. We win. Do you believe? I believe. I believe in you, and I believe in us!"

Basically, it just kicks ass, and I'm doing a lousy job of explaining it. lol.

I wish everyone could see it. Hell, I wish they would play the same video on the big screen before the home games, but I'd wager that would require a large investment to get us up to copyright compliance. There would also be timing issues (ie the movie studio lawyer would move to slow).

Anyway. Cool stuff. Other videos have included Star Wars, Ali, Glory and Remember the Titans (I think).

When that video from the awards gala becomes available to the public, be sure to post a link.

I saw that LSU video a week or so before this years championship game and got pumped up even though it was done from an LSU perspective.

honestly, i doubt our videos will ever become public except on a bootleg basis.

They've been doing it for 5 years and the videos haven't leaked yet.

Since we're talking about videos, does anyone know where I can find UGA highlights online? I cant find anything for the life of me.
