Baseball Top 25 Polls are Out

Per Baseball America's Top 25 Poll, UGA is ranked 9th.

We've passed Kentucky and we remain ahead of Georgia Tech and Ok State. All of those teams are relevant as we inch closer to the Super Regional Bubble.

BaseballNews.com has us at #10. We're in striking distance of UK. Hopefully, the ACC won't have 3 teams host because UVA has a great resume.

(hat tip to Ryan Jordan on the 2nd poll)

Oh, yeah...Virginia of the ACC has as great resume all right...with the Number 139 Strength of Schedule.

Here is the URL Link to the #139 SOS Virginia : http://www.boydsworld.com/baseball/sos/sos2006.html

See Georgia at Number 9 SOS ?

It is the single most incredible crap I have ever heard that their resume is great.

Here it is by the way. Does is still look so great ?

The facts of the matter are that the ACC has 5 teams at the bottom, bottom feeders, that cannot beat their way out of a wet paper bag.

What does the Number 139 Strength of Schedule look like on your resume ?

Duh. We just looked at it. A collection of misfits and nobodies, no one has ever heard of...that is what the Number 139 SOS looks like.

As we all just saw in detail for their "great resume."

I don't think so.

Why is Virginia's RPI twice as bad as Georgia's ?

Would it have anything to do with the fact that Virginia dropped two out of three games with Georgia Tech while UGA whooped Tech 2 out of 3 instead ?

That Virginia lost to Old Dominion, lost to the College of Charleston, lost all 3 games against North Carolina State, that Virginia lost a game to Miami, lost a game to Weak Forest, lost a game to North Carolina, and lost a game to Duke believe it or not.

Or, would it instead have to do with the facts of just whom it is they played for 26 games out-of-conference ?

26 total abject wusses Virginia played in Baseball this year and not one good team out-of-conference - just only these 26 games against nothingness, which is why their SOS is in FACT Number 139 this baseball season.

That is not a great resume.

Sorry.

Virginia is barely in the Top 25 in terms of what they have done against whom it is they have played this season :

http://www.boydsworld.com/baseball/isr/currentisr.html

Georgia's resume is twice as good as Virginia's, right down the line.

I will stand Georgia Diamond Dawgs' 38-17 against SOS Number 9 in the nation, ranked Number 9 in the Baseball America Poll against Virginia's 45-11 against SOS Number 139, ranked Number 7 in the Baseball America Poll any day.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/college/top25/261347.html

Georgia is 3-1 vs. the ACC, while Virginia has played no one in any BCS Conference, not one team out-of-conference.

Georgia is 16-7 against Ranked Opponents this year including 7-1 down the home stretch while Virginia has played 26 out-of-conference "opponents" no one has ever heard of, let alone knew had a Baseball Team.

Georgia has 3 seasoned Starters against the 9th toughest schedule they pitched against in the nation this season :

Probable Starting Pitchers For UGA :

#49 Mickey Westphal, LHP (6-0, 4.76), Sr.
#14 Brooks Brown, RHP (6-3, 3.59), Jr.
#13 Nathan Moreau, LHP (7-1, 3.97), Fr.

The Baseball America Poll has 3 SEC and 3 ACC teams in their Top 10 with the Regular Season now over.

Baseball America has only 1 other ACC Team ranked while the SEC has 2 more ranked SEC Teams in the Baseball America Poll you discuss.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/college/top25/261347.html

5 SEC Top 25 Ranked Teams and only 4 ACC Top 25 Ranked Teams.

This is the resume that Virginia has.

Thank you very much.
