Idrissi's time at UGA over

Good grief, I'd like to think that we could've phrased this better. From georgiadogs.com....

Bulldogs' Idrissi Will Not Return To Basketball Team

ATHENS ---- The scholarship of Georgia basketball player Younes Idrissi will not be renewed for the 2006-07 academic year, according to an announcement Friday by head coach Dennis Felton.

Idrissi, a 6-8 forward from Casablanca, Morocco, would have been a junior on the 2007 Georgia squad. As a sophomore last season, he started in 10 of 30 games, averaging 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds and shooting 40 percent from the field. He scored in double figures six times, twice getting his career high of 16 points, first against Nevada and later against Alabama.

"In order for our program to continue with its growth and development, we need everyone to put forward an honest effort in being responsible as student-athletes and devoted to our mission for excellence," Felton said. "Although it's not going to work out for Younes to continue on our team, we wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Idrissi averaged 3.4 points in 27 games as a freshman in the 2004-05 season.

I wish I could say otherwise Paul, but how can you not have grown accustomed to "phrasing" problems.

I'm disappointed that we will not have Younes. He was a steadily improving player and seemed an important part of the team. He was turning into a consistent defensive presence, and I always felt comfortable when he was on the court (though I guess Felton could care less about how I feel).

i hear he went home by himself because his grandma is goin to die. my friend is close friend of him and told me he is the one who chosed not to come back. i also heard that the coaches didn't care when he had family problems back so he told them he is got enough of it.
but to let you guys know, he was the coolest one in the whole team. so easy to talk to and very very smart. everybody loved the guys and on the court nobody plaid as hard as he does. always picking up fights and battling for every ball. the prove is the last game of the season closing a career at georgia with a great game.
