DawgBone.net's Old School Pic of the Week

Another classic from DawgBone.net.

Herschel Running track

If you're looking for a way to start your bulldog day, DawgBone.net is a great launch page. They aggregate UGA links from all over the country as well as the obvious choices such as Scout.com, Rivals.com, the AJC, Athens Paper, Macon-Telegraph, Columbus Ledger, Red and Black, and interesting blog articles of note from SI.com, ESPN.com, etc. It's less a science than an art. Ie...not all links are provided. But most of the best articles are there.

Often you can find gems like random articles on the Dawgs from papers across the Southeast and as far away as Korea.

They seem to update twice per day. Once in the morning around 7 am and usually once later in the day. If you see a great article from an unusual source, they've got a tool for submitting articles built into the page.

This is not a paid endorsement of DawgBone.net. Just a helpful tip.

The laws of physics should prohibit anything that big from moving that fast. Show of hands, is there anyone who's seen this picture who doesn't believe that Herschel could literally bite that guy from Tech in half were he so inclined? Of course he wouldn't because Herschel is sensitive to the plight of the malnourished. I'm just saying he could. . .

I second that on Dawgbone.net. It sure saves me a TON of time every morning searching for Dawg news. It's like the Drudge Report for Dawg fans.

That photo leaves no doubt why Herschel was the greatest college football player of all time. He was truly a man among boys.

I agree with Macondawg (word to Payne City). It looks like the dude was carved out of a particularly swift type of rock.

He was a little before my time, but he looked like a freak of nature.

I did some research and apparently there were originally six runners in that race, but somebody forgot to give Herschel his pre-race snack.

The really scary thing is that he looked like that twenty+ years ago without all of the advancements we have made in nutrition and training regiments.

The laws of physics apply to things of an Earthly nature, not to machines sent from the Gods.
