Dooley is writing yet another book

Dooley is coming out with a new book. This time it's a children's book titled "How 'Bout Them 'Dawgs!"

I think this is Dooley's 154th book, making him slightly more profilic than King David as a writer, but not quite as active as Stephen King.

I'll give you three guesses on who the villain is in Dooley's children's book. Here's a hint...

Guesses #1, 2 and 3

Rumored Excerpt from the book:
"You see boys and girls, there once was a red nose, ruddy faced tyrant. He was evil and fired the nice, elderly Coach Dooley despite the tremendous success the school had experienced in the classroom, playing field and on the balance sheet.

"Can you say 'egomaniacal control freak who lacks any semblance of an ability to develop a cohesive message or bring the Dawg Nation together?' I knew you could."
In fairness to Dooley, I should point out that his Tales from 1980 was a good read as are most of his other works. I reviewed "Tales from 1980" back in December if you're interested.

I think Dooley has reached the top of the literary mountain!

At Dooley's alma mater, you can reach the top of the literary mountain even if you left a few pages uncolored.

Erk Russell, another proud AU grad, was making jokes about how easy school had been when he was enrolled. Another AU alum chastised him, saying, "Erk, you have 12 varsity letters from AU. You shouldn't talk about it like that."

Erk paused, and replied, "I did win 12 varsity letters from AU, but every one of them was spelled wrong."

(Dan Magill told this story at the Atlanta Bulldog Club gig years and years ago. Who am I to dispute Coach Magill?)
