Late-night BulldogsWe'll probably know something around 4 or 5:00 today. If it's not a 7:45 pm start, it will be a noon CBS double header start.
The Bulldogs will play Ole Miss on ESPN2 this Saturday night at 9 Eastern, and it appears the Oct. 7 game between Georgia and Tennessee will be at night as well. CBS has a noon-3:30 doubleheader that afternoon, but ESPN actually has first pick of the UT-UGA, LSU-Florida and Auburn-Arkansas matchups.
Georgia media relations director Claude Felton said Saturday that ESPN "protected" the Tennessee game before the season and does not expect the cable network to change course. ESPN prime-time telecasts kick off at 7:45.
Official announcements for the league's Oct. 7 games will be made Monday.
It would be our first night start at home against the Vols since the 2000 Goal Post Drought Buster game. Before that, I think you have to go back to '96. Or maybe '89 for a night start against UT at home.

It's going to be night game. The noon CBS game is South Carolina at Kentucky.

This really pisses me off! We DESERVE the noon or preferably the 3:30 time slot on CBS.
Is CBS gonna pick us up for any games besides the Cocktail Party this year?
This sucks.
Anon - the 7:45 National ESPN Telecast will have MUCH greater viewership nationally than the noon CBS game which will air at 10:00 Mountain and 9:00 am Pacific.
We aren't getting demoted to ESPN. ESPN is stepping in and saving us from the CBS noon slot.

Thanks for bringing that guy back to earth PWD. I cannot handle another noonish kickoff. This has been the worst season for tailgating in recent memory. Here's to hoping for 7:45. That ought to make Adams happy.
Thank You dawgphan! This year has been crappy fpr tailgating. I'm tired of getting up at 5am get to campus by 7:30 or 8 and then have maybe 3 1/2 hours to tailgate. Bring on ESPN and the late start. Go DAWGS.
ESPN 7:45 is what we want exposure wise, though I wont be disappointed with CBS 3:30. CBS 12:00 would just be horrible.
I personally prefer the 3:30 spot on CBS. I always thought that was the marquis spot, not ESPN (since they are cable). Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the info!!
Isn't the better question, what time slot give us the best shot at success? Do we play against UT well at night?
We play well vs. UT regardless of the kickoff time lately. ;-)
