We'll run around college football's blogosphere today, and we start things off in Tally where we learn that FSU will wear all-black uniforms for the Oct. 21st game with Boston College (ht - FanBlogs.com). Personally, I think the uniforms are part of a broader mourning period for the FSU Offense. You know what they say, once you've had black, you'll never turn back.
The Blog Poll is Out:
MGoBlog has the Week 3 blog poll out. No huge shockers. The thing that I like most about the Blog Poll is Brian's inclusion of the greatest standard deviation among vote getting teams. This week the teams that blog pollers have the most disagreement on are:
- 1. Oklahoma
2. Iowa
3. Oregon
4. Nebraska
5. Louisville
Punters Gone Wild:
Everyone and their brother has done a riff on the Northern Colorado kicker pulling a Tonya Harding. As usual one of the best comes from EDSBS, "When Punters Attack."
Hot Seat News: NC State Edition
Amato's implosion continues, and Tony Barnhart rips into Chuck Amato for blaming the loss to Akron on his school's high academic standards. Yes. Read that last sentence again. Barnhart isn't the only member of the media on the anti-Chuckwagon. The Charleston Post-Courier talks about cheering in the press box when NCSU lost to Akron. StateFansNation says that NC State has brought Baghdad Bob on board to handle the media...especially kangaroo lovers.
Hot Seat News: UNC Edition:
HeelsBlog gives a passionate view into being a Tar Heel Footbal fan right now. After starting the season with a 21-16 loss to Rutgers and another loss to Virginia Tech, frustration continues to build among UNC fans. They get Furman this week, but remember...they lost to the Furmies in 1999.
Bonus...this has nothing to do with anything above, but it is LSU vs. Auburn weekend. With that in mind, check out this spectacular Pre-Game video that the LSU Staff put together for the 2001 Sugar Bowl. (ht - Tiger Droppings)

Being a UNC football fan is kind of like being a UGA basketball fan. There's no reason why the program shouldn't be good, but somehow, it just almost never is.
I can't remember the 2001 LSU-Auburn game, but judging from the pre-Sugar Bowl highlight film, they must have beat them 220-0.
I didn't know Illinois had a football team...
And North Carolina probably made their own bed when they looked at Joe Dailey's 2004 game films and said, "yeah, we'll take him."
#2 in that video is Ryan Clark, if I remember right - he just WRECKED people. That was one flat nasty defense :(
