The ACC is strongly considering pulling the game out of Jacksonville. The combination of 10-12k unsold tickets combined with the threat of even higher no shows is making the ACC look ridiculous.
Today on 680theFan, Pat Dooley of the Gainesville Sun stated that the ACC hasn't exactly helped the Gator Bowl Association move the tickets. He talked about the lack of cooperation in marketing the game.

It's never made any sense to have the game in Jacksonville anyway. Charlotte is the logical choice for its location and the history and tradition of the Carolina schools. Plus, it's a great venue.
I think it was 37 degrees and rainy last year in Charlotte the week of the ACC Title game.
The strongest teams in the league at the game's inception were FSU and Miami. Having the game closest to the two teams you would just about bank on being there every year makes perfect sense.
