Cutcliff Interested in NC State Job

While it’s certainly not as prestigious as being the offensive coordinator of Notre Dame, David Cutcliffe has thrown his proverbial hat into the ring for the NC State head coaching job.

This announcement coincides with Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher denying any interest in the job, making the head coaching job at NC State about as popular as an ambassador post to Syria.

If Cutcliffe does leave the Tennessee program that he helped rise from the ashes to meteoritic 9-3 heights this year, look for Phil Fulmer to scour the ranks of assistants across the SEC, particularly Kentucky, for an adequate replacement.

And if Cutcliffe does leave it’s unclear how this shakeup might impact Steve Spurrier’s staff at Alabama. Stay tuned.

PWD Note: It would also be interesting to see how Cutcliff's departure would impact five star recruit Eric Berry (ATH/WR/DB) of Creekside.

I think NC State still has a little desperation left over from their basketball head coach search. They're like the kid who can't get a prom date.
