vs. Alabama (W) -- '98 Music City Bowl
vs. Tennessee (L) -- '94 Gator Bowl
vs. Ole Miss (L) -- '68 Liberty Bowl

Virginia Tech vs. the SEC:
Alabama: 1-10
Auburn: 1-3-1
Arkansas: 0-0
Georgia: 0-21-1
Florida: 0-2
Kentucky: 6-11-2
LSU: 1-0
Mississippi: 1-1
Miss. State: 0-0
South Carolina: 7-11-2**
Tennessee: 2-5
Vanderbilt: 6-3
Vs. Current SEC Members: 26-47-6**

*All games between SC and VT were played prior to the Gamecocks joining the SEC.

Now here's the thing. It's almost impossible to talk smack with a Virginia Tech fan about their history and tradition. Why? Because they know that they don't have any of either. At least nothing prior to Beamer's arrived in '87. More stats on this topic here.

All stats unofficial. I was tinkering with their media guide when I got this info. If it's not 100% accurate, it's pretty damn close.

I really wish you SEC idoits knew what the hell you were talking about. Of those amazing records you posted, how many of the games occurred in the last 10 years? I mean, besides losing to an undeafeted Auburn team in 2005 (the same team that beat Georgia 24-6), beating LSU 26-8 in 2002, and Alabama 38-7 in 1998?

Hey douchebag,

Did anyone say that the games were recent? No. I just posted stats.

I also linked to a site that showed the last time each series was played.

Don't be so defensive.

The link is probably where douchebag got his information.

I would rather be an SEC idoit than an ACC idiot.

We SEC idiots know what we were talking about. I've lived in VA for a decade and know plenty about VT. I like Beamer and admire what he's done with a program that was virtually non-existant before he arrived. Let's face it, Michael Vick put your program on the map and that wasn't too long ago.

I guess the point was simply that VT is not a "historically" strong program...people like you only want to remember the past 10 years or so. Reminds me of the Florida Gators - who, until this year, liked to forget about pretty much their entire history that didn't involve Steve Spurrier as a player or a coach.

Those are definitely some very interesting stats that you found. I am a VT Hokie grad and I love to watch Hokie football (have season tickets in fact), but it's true that we don't have much in the way of history and tradtion if you look beyond about 1993. We're just trying to build a history and tradition like you have.
