Fans of WABE's Jazz Classics will love this. If you've never heard of Father Tom Vaughn, but you're a Dawg fan...you'll still love this tune. Some old '80s videos combined with a very old tune.
Background on the Song:
For 20+ years, H. Johnson of WABE 90.1 FM Atlanta has hosted "Jazz Classics" from 9:00 pm - 2:00 am on Saturday. Every Saturday at exactly 9:00 pm, he begins his show with Father Tom Vaughn's rendition of Battle Hymn.
In July of last year, I asked if any of our readers could send me a copy of Vaughn's version of Battle Hymn. In December, a man claiming to be Vaughn's son commented on the thread to thank us for talking about his dad, and to say that a digital version of his father's work would be for sale in the future.
In late January, an Auburn fan sent me a copy of the song via email. So I took some old Munson Video highlights and paired them up with this track. I'll probably redo the video at some point without the Munson voice over. But I liked it so much that I wanted to go ahead and share it, now.

Simply Amazing! Thank you.
I got him to email me a copy too, and LOVE it. Thanks for sharing Paul.
Is that a subliminal message at the 2:04 mark, or did the tape skip?
Good song - but there's a problem. These highlights are from TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS AGO!!!
I love the past but living in it. Half the video was from GA/FLA 1980! Have you forgotten what has happened since 1990??!!
Time for some new memories guys.
Live in the NOW GODDAMNIT!!
Here's an idea, anon 8:37 -- why don't you make something? What an ass.
Very well done, pwd. I think that was a subliminable reminder that Herschel really won the Florida game, not just Belue-to-Scott.
I'll nver see Womack splatter that #19 on the goal line enough times.
Anon 8:37
You should check out a site called Blogger.com. From there you can create your own blog.
And then you can promptly blow it out your ass.

as if!
i would like all of u mutt fans to take a look at www.collegefotballnews.com and see how the 2003 recruiting class favors now! just another example of how gt chan takes bad players and coaches them up. and cmr takes good players and can't develope them!
Anon- 9:11 am,
I can't hear you...your six game losing streak to Georgia is stuck in my ears.
pwd
Paul et al,
I have the 25 years of Vince Dooley VHS. You can borrow it and circle jerk to old Herschel and Belue to Scott highlights.
I'll choose to live in 2007 - hopefully the year we beat FL again. This time without a miracle.
Oh, and have you heard. FL won the NC again.
Paul,
Awesome video. Good job!
PWD,
How big are your ears? I ask only b/c that is a mighty big losing streak to have stuck in one's ears.
Anon,
It is perfectly acceptable to celebrate the past and still enjoy the present. Our history is the one thing that we can hold against Florida these days, so why not celebrate it?
Anon - no one lives less in the past than me. I simply made the "old school" video because it was easiest.
I have a big pile of Munson video tapes. The oldest ones are the only ones I've converted to DVDs so far.
Like I said. I you don't like it, make your own clips.

It was awesome pwd.... who the fuck calls themselves dawg fans but then doesnt want to see highlights of the glory days.... i'm 19 years old, im not supposed to be saying this type of thing but i never get tired of hearing about the great stories from 80... anytime, anywhere glory glory to ole georgia has been sang i want to hear about... yea, we are in 2007... god i cant wait, these guys are gonna take us all the way... but i'll never forget the greats that paved the way.... Once a dawg, always a dawg... HOW SWEET IT IS.
you keep preaching dude! i'm a tech fan and yes it sucks losing to ya'll 6 yrs. in a row,,,, but i'm 25 and the sweetest thing in the world is to watch your team an entire season and see them win a champ! maybe one day you'll get that chance!
ur right gt fan. i'll take all the losses uga and laugh knowing that all my friends didn't get to see their beloved dogs win one yet cause their last one was in the dark ages!!!! 1990 was an awesome season!!!!!!!!!
Dude - you were 9 years old. Since '91, Georgia has beaten Tech 13 of the past 16 times. Did you enjoy the 1-10 season as much as you enjoyed the national championship (sic) win in the Citrus Bowl?
I'm glad you're cherishing that point. It's really the only thread of prosperity that your program can hang onto these days.

Dawg 05,
You call losing to Florida 15 of 17 enjoying the present? Sure we've had some recent success and I love that. But the video reminded me of the sad state of the rivalry in that we're having to celebrate 27 year old events in order to fluff our self-esteem. Paul is an awesome blogger and an obvious bright, serious GA fan - and I was probably too hard on the video he made. But it's time to beat the Gators and put an end to this complete and utter domination they've enjoyed against us.
No, I don't enjoy losing 15/17. However, I do enjoy being a fan of this decade's top SEC team. I also enjoy celebrating the fact that Georgia has a history, whereas Florida does not.
Again, it is OK to celebrate the glory years of the past.
OH, well if that's your beef, you need to talk with Coach Richt.
I'm in charge of blogging.
He's in charge of not losing to the Gators anymore.

Unfortunately - when it comes to FL, all we have is the glory years of the past. Obviously I am sick of that.
Paul - I agree. He needs to improve his record and start taking that game extra seriously.
Damnit! I'll always have 2004!
no matter what the record is between gt and uga...recite this back to me.....gt has the latest champ. by more than 9 years over my(your) sorry ass!
Nerd, I have a fraction for you. 1/2.
ATTENTION ANY NON DAWG FANS: GO TO HELL!
It's as simple as that. If you don't like it... go elsewhere!
For everyone else, there is nothing wrong with remembering the past. This is where you learn what it takes to win... like a back who can gobble up the yards to open the passing (not that Buck Belue did much passing, but it was there when he did!), and a bend but not break defense. WATCH... LEARN!
Great job, Paul! If you change anything, just cut off the post play commentary from Munson. Otherwise, leave the play calling in. That would be good.
BTW: I am not afraid of signing my name. You anon blowhards are just chicken poop!
