Great youtube videos compiling the best of Nique's dunks. The first one is from NBATV. #2-4 are all against the Celtics. It's especially cool to listen to the Boston Garden react to one of his power slams.
The second video is longer, and it was compiled by a fan. The audio on the second one is absolutely not safe for work. So hit mute before you hit play. You were warned.

Ridiculous. I remember reading one time Nique said if you get in his way near the basket you have two options, foul me or get your arm broken.
"Always go for the 50 in round 1."
-- Nique to Spud and Gerald at the Slam Dunk Contest
We could all learn from those words of wisdom.
On the subject of "50," that the NBA left 'Nique off the Top 50 at 50 team was an outrage. Scottie Pippen? James Worthy? It's a joke.
If 'Nique had hooked up with Magic or Michael early on, he'd be considered a Top 10 alltime player. If those guys had gone to the Hawks, Worthy would be barely remmebered as an outstanding college player who never did much in the NBA and Pippen would be complete nobody. OK, if they had been there together, they would have prospered, but either of them alone, trying to pull the wagon while a bunch of other guys rode in it -- as #21 did, would have failed.
The clips do a good job of breaking down the Hawks' 'Nique-era offense: "The clock is winding down, here 'Nique, go dunk on Robert Parrish."
Stick, you are SO right about the top 50, and about the Hawks' offense in the Nique era. I dont know how many times I saw someone kick the ball out to him 30 feet from the basket with 4 seconds left on the shot clock, with everyone looking at him like, "OK, Nique. Do something great now."
The amazing thing is that frequently, he DID do something great. The greatest thing about watching a Hawks game when Nique played was that you knew, you KNEW, that you had to pay attention to him every second, because once or twice a night he would do something you'd never seen before, probably never even imagined was possible.
Nique always got a bad rap as a gunner, but if you took Magic, or Jordan, and you surrounded him with the likes of Doc Rivers, Randy Wittman, Jon Koncak, Kevin Willis, Reggie Theus, et al, I doubt they would have been toting home any championship trophies, either.
You cant say Nique was the greatest player ever; however, I defy anyone to point out a more explosive player in the history of the NBA.
Oh, and by the way, and slightly off topic: the greatest champion of all time has to be Bill Russell, not Jordan. Russell won 2 NCAA titles, an Olympic gold when he was 22 (couldnt play once you turned pro back then) and something like 11 NBA titles in 13 years (I'm too lazy to look it up). Plus, he won a title as player/coach. I'd have to say Kareem isnt too far behind; I mean, that guy took a sad sack expansion Milwaukee team to the title in his second (and I think, the team's third) year in the league. Jordan had much better PR and media exposure (and obviously, he's a great, great champion), but he's back at the Magic/Bird level, if you ask me. Which, none of you did.
