Landers' son heads home from hospital
| | Story updated at 11:09 PM on Monday, July 2, 2007
Less than a week after injuries from an Alabama crash left him in a hospital intensive care unit, Drew Landers returned to his Bogart home.
The son of Georgia women's basketball coach Andy Landers was released from Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday night and is resting and recovering at home, Georgia Athletic Association spokesman Mike Mobley said Monday.
Landers was one of three North Oconee students who were passengers in a car that was hit when a tractor-trailer truck jackknifed near Oxford, Ala.
The crash killed assistant coach Shawn Smith, who was driving the students back from a basketball camp.

Landers, a rising senior, suffered a head injury and bruised lung in the accident.
"There are obviously some things that they are looking at and monitoring to make sure that everything is progressing, but everything seems to be good," Mobley said.
