Quick editorial (update): I have no problem with giving Joe Cox some snaps. The offensive line from what I'm hearing is stone cold awful right now. They are inexperienced, and our starting QB is likely going to be the crap beat out of him for long stretches this year.

We need the backup QB to have some seasoning because he's more than likely going to come off the bench at some point. Particularly this year. UGA has needed its backup QB in:

2006 - various times re: injuries and performance
2005 - ARK and UF re: injuries
2004 - GT re: injury
2003 - LSU re: injury (but DG sucked it up and came back)
2002 - Clemson re: performance
2001 - no real issues
2000 - second half of season re: injuries

Richt didn't say he's going to a 2 QB system. There's no sense in over reacting here.
