The Tigers are 1-2 with losses to South Florida and Mississippi State, two programs better known for failure and poverty (respectively) than for football domination. The State of Alabama media and the Auburn bloggers are in rare form over the loss:
- Leaking more oil than the Exxon Valdez - Paul Finebaum
- Tuberville playing Silly Games - B'Ham News
- Hanging in the Balance - B'ham News
- Losing Season Likely - Huntsville Times
- Ships Passing in the Night - B'Ham News
- Tough Decisions to Make - TurnerLoose
- Did Tubby get Croomed? - AU's Fanhouse
- Dixieland Disaster - Track 'Em Tigers
- That's my Purse - Joe Cribbs' Car Wash (my favorite)
- Croomed! - From the Bleachers
- New Mexico State (W) - a chance to get Kodi Burns some QB reps before UF
- at Florida (L) - A near certain loss
- Vandy (W) - A chance to regroup after the UF thrashing. Although, Vandy is better than Miss State, and it's another likely early start which Tuberville fairs so poorly in.
- at Arkansas (Toss Up?) - AU didn't stop ARK last year. Why would they this year? At best a toss up.
- at LSU (L) - A beat down of epic proportions seems likely.
- Ole Miss (W) - they can wipe away the shame from the trip to Baton Rouge
- Tennessee Tech (W) - a chance to get healthy before Athens.
- at Georgia (Toss Up?) - Given their ownership of our facility, this is a toss up. We'll know more about UGA around midnight on Saturday.
- OFF WEEK
- Alabama (Toss Up?) - anything can happen in a rivalry game, but this looks tough for AU.
Why would I even write about this during Bama week?
All the negative press for Auburn hasn't gone unnoticed in Tuscaloosa. Almost every negative article about Auburn is a also a love fest for Fighting Sabans. The compare and contrast nature of last weekend is unavoidable. If there were ever a week where your opponent might be "reading his press clippings" this is it.
Momentum favors Bama this weekend against the Dawgs. But so do the distractions.

As I push my glasses up, I must note that fair is either an adjective ("fair game"), possibly an adverb, or a noun ("we went to the fair"). I don't think it is ever a verb, and certainly not in the context you used.
Fare, on the other hand is a verb that would work in that sentence. Why does this bother me? I don't know, I apologize for my geekdom.
It's probably "fare." But It's probably something I don't care about either way. No need to apologize.
It's definitely "fare." Since I know the GSB strives for excellence in all areas, but is subject to the occasional misplaced homonym in the rush to provide an eager world with the latest in wry entertainment, please don't take this as criticism. I'm just here to help.
I'm at little nonplussed at how "fair" could be used as an adverb. Despite my uniformly good grades in English and grammar classes, I was never too good at diagramming sentences.
See? The GSB: It's good, and good for your English comprehension skills, too!
litterecy is teh suzorz!1!!!!1
I wonder if that arrogant sonofabitch Tubberville is holding up his thumb now? How funny is that t-shirt you c*cksucker?
That smarmy bastard is reaping what he has sowed for years and he deserves every single moment of this trainwreck.
To hell with AU and TT!
I'm farely sure that TT is on his fairwell ride. I have said for years that Tubbs is enjoying the success of good assistant coaching lately and didn't fair well before then. No one says it's fare, but coaching is a tough business and not for fare-weather people. We'll see whether many of those die hard AU fans from 2004 are still around, or have gone to the fare to catch a wilder ride.
Get my drift?
Tubs has the most wins of any coach in the SEC over the past 3 years I think.
They won't fire him. They'll just make him fire some combo of Borges, Muschamp and Nall.
If they fire Muschamp, then maybe he can replace Martinez.
Tubby has a quick trigger finger with his assistants. I remember how the AU defense just creamed Alabama in the '05 Iron Bowl, making every AU fan praise then Defensive Coordinator David Gibbs.
Well, after the defense was destroyed by Wisconsin in the Cap. One Bowl, Auburn fans started to get upset. So, Tubby blamed Gibbs and gave him the ole pink slip.
Tubby has played politics in this business before, I expect him to do it again.
That's a bunch of moronic bullshit. Gibbs left AU to take a job as an NFL asst. Although if Tubs had wanted to push him out the door, he'd have been justified. Gibbs did a poor job and was an a-hole on top of it. But let's not confuse the facts with a nice mudslinging...You're right, he was fired.
I see the Tubby spin machine found one spokesman.
Ladies and gentlemen, SEC football!
Vandy is better than MSU? By what measure? Oh, that's right. Vandy's the plucky little team that ALMOST could, while State is a shithole team from a shithole state. I misplaced my script.
I wish that Muschamp was our defensive coordinator. Martinez was lucky with wins over Auburn, Tech amd VT, but he still needs to be fired. He and John Eason. Its amazing how receivers (Ie. Terrence Edwards, Fred Gibson, and Mo Massaquoi) have great freshman seasons and get progressively worse at their career goes on.
