Cordy Glenn recruiting video

As you already know, Riverdale High School offensive tackle Cordy Glenn committed to Georgia on Sunday. OT was one of the few remaining holes in this otherwise exceptional recruiting class, and Glenn is the type of prospect to fill it.

Scout.com has free video up showcasing the big man's abilities. When watching the video it's important to ignore the size difference between Glenn and the HS defensive linemen that he's facing. What he does to those little guys isn't what's impressive. It's HOW he does it, and how LONG he does it.

The impressive part is watching his passion for destruction. Here's a guy blocking his man into the turf 10, 15 or 20 yards down the field well after the running back has passed him. He blocks with vengeance and bad intentions. Watch him pick up his feet and keep his hands on defenders in pass protection. A guy that size shouldn't be able to move like that. That's why he's a blue chipper.

Georgia beat Alabama and a host of others to sign this soon to be five star prospect. As I've said before, we don't do a ton of recruiting coverage here. However, a well placed source involved in Glenn's recruitment told me (paraphrase), "He's exactly what Georgia is looking for. He's got the size, speed, work ethic and grades to become a star. Searels is going to love working with Glenn."

With Haverkamp's departure, there appears to be room for at least two more prospects in this recruiting class. All indications point to Zebrie Sanders of Ohio (6'-6" 280 lb four star offensive tackle) as being one of the priorities for the last spot alongside Jefferson County's AJ Harmon (current Clemson commit).

Unfortunately he's going to be very, very good. You just can't teach a nasty streak - and that's something that UGa's line has appeared at times to lack in recent years.

With Sturdivant at Right Tackle, where do you see Glenn? Pulling guard, Right Tackle?

Sturdivant plays left tackle. Cheese plays right. So (if he doesn't redshirt), there will be no incumbent starter blocking his path.

Isn't it nice to have athletes up front? I'd absolutely love to get Sanders into camp too. Harmon would be nice, but if he stays at Clemson that's not the end of the world.

At this point, the class is great no matter what happens with the last couple of commits--and let's not forget that not only is the Havercamp scholly coming open but Avery may go the baseball route.

The thing about locking up our class so early that really excites me is that we are getting a big jump on the 09 class. We've got tons of momentum right now and we're being mentioned as an early top 5 team for next year already.

This program is snowballing very well right now.

Seeing all these great commitments gives me the same feeling I had after the 2003 sUGAr bowl win. We are going to have a top 5 team for the next couple of years barring something just devastating.

That is not an offensive tackle, that is a piece of earth-moving equipment wearing a football uniform. I hope the NCAA doesn't find out.

i'm a little confused. haverkamp's departure? isn't he a junior?

I realize I may be way off on this, but...

I have inside information that A.J. Harmon was at the "Auburn Blackout" and came away very impressed with Georgia.

Apparently, he has decided to switch his commitment to the Dawgs.

It's only a matter of time...we'll see.

By the way, Anon: 1:29...

Haverkamp is gone from the team. He got his second alcohol-related incident and was automatically put on academic suspension, which meant he couldn't play ball. He told CMR that he needed to go back to Kansas and straighten his life out. That's the rough draft of what happened.

Check Dawgbone.net

I'm sure it's there somewhere.

dawg19, after the blackout AJ said he was 65% committed to UGA according to Rivals. He said he had to take his official visit to see Clemscum last weekend, but after watching them lose to BC I would have to think he would want to go to UGA. Especially since Bowdon is perennially on the hot seat.

Has anyone heard anything lately on Zebrie, I think he was down for the Auburn game too and you can only assume he was impressed.

Harmon has stated that he could change depending on the coaching situation at Clemson.

And Richt said on the radio Monday night that since they have almost filled all of their spots, they would definitely get a jump on '09 recruiting.
