For those of you who didn't watch the Iron Bowl last night, Auburn won it 17-10. This gives the Aubs six wins in a row, meaning they will now taunt the Bammers with two hands to show them how many consecutive wins they have in the rivalry. (Evidently, Alabama residents can only communicate in primitive hand gestures.) Last year, Tuberville warned Alabama to "fear the thumb," and this year the Aubs have moved on to the "next hand."
An Alabama state police K-9 unit tried to insure that Auburn DB Jerraud Powers wouldn't taunt anyone when it bit Powers Saturday night in the waning minutes.

Such an impromptu amputation might actually make the taunt more effective. The Aubs could flash a middle finger paired with another five digits.

Why do the people in Alabama feel they need those dogs (or fire hoses) at a football game?
This isn't Birmingham and this isn't 1963.
Good grief.
No kidding, anon. As soon as that happened all I could ask myself is 'what the heck is a police dog doing on a football field?'
Seriously, are they there to keep students from storming the field? If so, that's an unbelievably dumb plan.
And, as if right on cue, Mike Patrick mentions "this isn't Georgia."
I'm surprised he wasn't scanning the stands for Britney Spears.
I am sure the dogs are part of any crowd control detail. When the player swiped his hand around near the dog, I am sure it was acting out of instinct and trained reflex. I agree the dogs should not have been that close to the field, but the officer in charge of the dog is the one at fault. I am sure it didn't go over well with his CO. Lets not over react, especially with cheap shots about Alabama's past, a past that has been left behind long ago.
Having a dog that close to the field of play is ridiculous. If a player or a play had extended further off of the field someone could have been REALLY hurt.
Actually, it was a cousin of Uga who found out that taking a piece of War Eagle is better than standing around the sideline of a game!!
(it's called a joke!)
That wasn't a dog. It was Britney Spears.
