There was even some buzz about Spurrier.
I guess Gailey can go work with Donnan now at ESPN. After all, they both were fired in similar situations...
Donnan: bet his career on an absolute moron in Quincy Carter, was on a losing streak to Tech, and couldn't win the conference with a defense loaded with future pros...
Gailey: bet his career on an absolute moron in Reggie Ball, was on a losing streak to UGA, and couldn't win the conference against WAKE FREAKING FOREST...
Hmmm...I wonder if Tech is considering an attempt to lure Spurrier to Atlanta...
He'd have a decent defense if Tenuta stays, he'd still be able to play great golf courses, at this point if he beat Georgia once they would build a statue of him outside the stadium, and you would think it would be easier to recruit players to Tech than to South Carolina (at least Tech has some tradition and it's in Atlanta). Plus, he's already proven he can win the ACC at Duke...how hard could it be at Tech?!!?
Spurrier has a lot of animosity towards Tech. He was an asst. there and was fired along with the head coach who I think was Pepper Rogers.
I heard what anon 5:10 said, so I don't think Spurrier ends up at Tech.
The AJC has a list of 11 possible candidates, of which Mason or 'Lil Holtz would be the best for UGA.
Also, Muschamp's name is being thrown around. If that happens, I don't see Tenuta staying.
coachO dun bin lego frumda rebhas ana pohol Husta Nuh atta wuktu. Issa gunta bea ruff tima foda coachO buhhe geby anna lanona hefeets likawehs.
Let's just hope they don't go after Paul Johnson or Charlie Strong.
Both of them would scare me at Tech
42-30.
he's been figured out.
Paul Johnson would be the only coach I would "fear" at Tech, because he's proven he can work wonders with so, so much less than the Techies have on a given basis. Plus, he seems like he can adapt his offense to fit the people on his squad, not the squad to his offense (see his transition from pass happy Hawai'i OC to run-first, second and third Georgia Southern HC).
