Just in case it got lost in the noise and clatter of the Teblow love-in this weekend, I only saw him play once in person this season and I wasn't all that impressed:
But, in Teblow's defense, he looked great against Florida Atlantic, so there's that.

But Timmy was hurt. He's gonna be ready for revenge next year so we had better watch out.
Yeah anon, because he's magically going to take less of a beating at that point next year with no decent RB on the horizon for Florida. :)
I knew it was only a matter of time.....
Timmy gets hurt
It happened last year when Georgia's football team gave him a nice concussion when he was only playing part time.
It happened this year with Kentucky dinging his shoulder.
Next year it will probably be something else some other body part.
He's a very good player, but its a big load to put on his basket...
that sounded a lot gayer than I meant it to.
mcfadden got robbed...
Does anyone really believe he can do this for two more years? He's not a pro-style quarterback. No pro team will be high on him if he's been getting banged up for four years. And he certainly isn't going to be running like this in the pro's, either. It will be very interesting to see how he develops himself because he's already won the two biggest trophies you can get in the NCAA. There are huge targets you have to wear after winning those trophies.
If he is smart, Tebow will leave after next year. His stock can only go down from here. Look at Matt Leinart, he went from being the #1 pick to a later pick. He should have left that year.
Tebow will be picked high the same as Mike Vick. He is a great athlete with a good arm and legs.
I don't think you will see him win again, because Moreno will be getting more attention next year as he will be our featured RB. This year was also the year that no one wanted the NC title or Heisman trophy.
Tebow is a great player regardless of whether he is a system QB or not. But unless they do get a real RB, he is going to take a beating. As far as his pro career, someone will take a shot on him, Vince Young was facing similar criticism and he was drafted. I know they are different players, but the do share some similarities. Also, as more college teams go to a spread option offense, I think more pro teams will look at that as an option or at least work those wrinkles into their offenses.
Moody will take much of the running load of of Tebow next year.
Broken leg in high school, busted shoulder and broken hand in college. The injuries are adding up, and they're going to keep adding up. At that rate, it's not even a given that he will even make it to the Pros.
Anon 5:03 here,
you guys can't smell sarcasm can you? Do any of you know a Gator fan? That's exactly what they ALL say.
Anon 5:03PM,
I picked up on that sarcasm. I am a Bulldog fan living in Tampa, FL and just about every single one of my coworkers is a Gaytor. I have heard the "he was hurt" excuse about a million times.
Wilson Bull(dog)
uh, yeah. got the sarcasm. you aren't THAT clever. the comment was in reference to people screwing around with the statue......and the Heisman.
Well, not to be a contrarian, but I think we're all being really 'sour grapes' about Tebow. Hey, we beat the Gator Heisman trophy winning qb. It's happened before, I believe. It's because we are awesome, not because Tebow needs to be torn down.
Tebow's stats this year were amazing. Also, he hardly 'choked' against us. His line in the Cocktail Party was impressive. Close to 300 yards with 2 rushing TDs, right? Not a shabby performance.
I agree that continued beatings are going to be a problem, but that really doesn't have much to do with his being deserving of the Heisman this year. Despite his injuries, he STILL put up a Heisman-worthy campaign.
Hey Xon... it doesn't matter how well Tee-ball-less did in the Cocktail Party since he didn't hang a "W" on the board. Good tries and looking good are for losers and Tee-ball-less was a loser on that day.
It looks like ESPN got their boy and their national championship game. Now maybe the brass-less nut jobs at ESPN can go with Lou Holtz and shrivel up somewhere other than in college football!
The way I look at it: Tebow winning makes it easier for a sophomore Knowshon Moreno to be seriously considered.
The Heisman Fark is $$$
As for the Tim was hurt argument...last time I checked, he wasn't on defense.
Last I checked, we didn't get a free pass in 2005.
I knew their gloating that year and dismissal of Shock's injury would come back to roost. I just didn't know it would only take two years.
Enjoy the Capital One, Gators.
If you look at the success (or lack of) Alex Smith is having in the NFL, you shouldn't be so optimistic about Tebow's future pro potential. Who the hell thinks NFL teams are going to move toward a spread offense or have "more wrinkles" for the spread? Its too specialized and great NFL QB's are too valuable (expensive)! New England, Indy, Dallas & Green Bay are NOT going to spread it out and let the QB run. Maybe one or two teams will try something like that but they will soon find out that it won't work. You can call it "sour grapes" if you wanna sound queer, but I just think I'm being realistic. Doesn't everybody?
Anon 10:01,
There's no comparison between Shockley's MCL tear in '05 and Tebow's bruised R shoulder in '05. Shockley didn't even suit up for the game and we lost by 4 points. The difference between Shockley and JT3 is well in excess of double digit points and you don't even have to be wearing red and black shades to see that. Tebow's Gators lost by 12 and if you'll look at the replay, Tebow was leading with his "injured" right shoulder on his second TD run. Nobody with a serious injury to their right shoulder leads with it when running into a 240 lb linebacker.
Uh, that was my point.
Enjoy it while you can, my friends. I believe we still are something like 14 for the last 17 or 18.
And I have the feeling our guys will be a little more motivated next year than they were this year.
Not to take away anything from the Dawgs this year--they came to play and deserved to win. All kidding aside, enjoy New Orleans and kick the cr##p out of Hawaii.
2-2 in the last senior class anon. gator.
What UGA did in JAX in the 90s has about as much relevance on next year's game as what UF did in JAX in the 80s.
And if Dennis Dixon stays healthy, we aren't talking about Tebow's trophy.
absolutely love the jean short heisman -- the necklace is just the perfect touch
Enjoy your sour grapes, UGA fans.
UF now has more Heismans than your school. UF's QB is better than yours. Everyone knows Tebow was injured in that game against you dumb mutts, and that our D was replacing 9 starters and was like swiss cheese. Next year the offense will be better, and the defense will be better.
It's good to hear you all looking forward to another 20 years of Gator dominance over you dumb mutts.
Sorry - I couldn't hear you over Tim Tebow's cries of agony.
ZING!
He is getting a real running back next year. Emmanuel Moody, who transferred from USC after playing well splitting carries his freshman year at USC. Tebow has a better chance of staying healthy next year with someone who won't fumble every other carry to hand the ball to.
