About the Ads and a Possible New Feature

I'm sort of experimenting to see what does and doesn't work during the off season. Like for instance, I figured "Tax Season" ads would do well. However, apparently all of my readers either:
    A. Have their taxes all figured out.
    B. Those ads *really* sucked.
I'm choosing option B. So, I ditched those today. I know UGA merchandise and Ticket ads do well, so I'm tinkering to find out what else interests you guys (and obviously makes me money).

If it starts getting too cluttered or hurting the performance / load times of articles, I'll adjust. Today, Blogger.com is performing like crap for my site. If the page lows slower than normal...it's not the ads. At least not today anyway.

On the plus side, I'm going to check into this "Call Me" feature that's making the rounds. Scott at the GT Sports Blog explains it. Basically, it would work sort of like a voice mail system for me where I could publish your reaction to articles or current UGA/SEC news. Scott explains it better. I'm considering testing that in the next week or two.

would it help if we clicked on the ads regardless of whether we care about a product or not?

Rather than think of it that way. Just think to yourself...."Should I give this advertiser 10 seconds of my time given that they are supporting a site I enjoy."

If you do that occasionally, that would be cool.
