Georgia vs. Florida Tonight in Hoops

Don't forget that UGA takes on the Gators tonight in basketball at Stegeman. Actual tip-off time is 7:36 pm; however, the game will be broadcast on CSS via tape delay at 10:00 pm.

Leading up to the game, the Athens Banner-Herald has an article about Bliss' strong year. Apparently, his back is healthy for the first time, and the results are paying off for him. In conference play he averages 8.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 25.8 minutes. (source: ABH)

On the other end of the spectrum, Chip Towers of the AJC points out that the final five games of the season (including the SEC Tourney) are Do or Die for Felton. I agree that Felton needs wins in the worst way imaginable.

He actually needs three more wins this season to avoid coaching two of the three worst UGA teams (based on number of wins) since Hugh Durham arrived in 1979.

it sucks that this will be the last home game with a respectable student turnout for the seniors since the literal last home game, next saturday, is the day after everyone leaves for spring break.

The next four games (or five if you count round 1 of the SEC tourney) are very winnable. Finish the season 5-1 and we finish 8-10 in the SEC, 16-14 overall with an outside shot at the NIT.

*UF at home
*at LSU
*at Aub
*Ole Miss at home
*and then a first round against Bama or SC or somebody.

All winnable imo. DF's track record at the end of the season isn't great, but this is as good a time to turn it around....

Well, we're 1-9 against our opponents in the East this year. Looks like Felton is on his way out the door.

That was one of the worst displays of basketball I've ever seen. Period. I can't believe I managed to sit through that entire game, it was so bad. The Refs were horrible, Yada had a horrible shooting night, and Florida was shooting threes early like they were a cure for cancer. And Felton did little to nothing to halt their momentum. Ever. It was horrible.

I have never been more ashamed to watch a team from Georgia. Completely listless and uninvolved.

I hate losing to Florida. Anywhere. And having them chanting DURING the game? Unbearable.

look on the bright side, we are getting plenty of young freshmen and sophomores experience that is going to pay off down the road. jim harrick really screwed us in this regard, and none of this blame can be put on felton. i mean the rest of the SEC, especially florida, doesn't play freshmen or sophomores like we have to.

wait, you mean to tell me that florida plays no seniors and only 1 junior? we are one of the most veteran teams in the SEC too? o, well this is rather embarressing. i guess we do suck that bad.

your spelling is embarrassing

We suck. And until we hire a good coach, and build a legit facility, we are going to continue sucking. fact.

even auburn, who has no basketball history at all other than charles barkley, is building a brand new arena. why does our athletic department continue to show the basketball team its giant, penny-penching middle finger?

Adams would want to name the arena for dooley.

I agree though, a new arena is needed. The floor looks like a scuffed up dance floor from a retirement home.

That was one of the worst displays of basketball i have seen in a while. We were outcoached, outmatched and outclassed in every possible way. Felton needs to be gone.

Dear Felton Defenders:

Where are you? Come out from your cave and defend your coach. Your numbers on this site appear to be dwindling, but do not give up. I'm sure you can find a new lame excuse as to why he needs one more year. Let's hear it. Why is Felton, and nobody else, our man? What? Nothing? Oh well...
