CBS = WTF?

I'd love to understand why the hell this game isn't being broadcast in Atlanta in glorious HD. I'm watching on normal CBS. If you're TIVO/DVRing this thing, I hope you recorded regular CBS. If you recorded the HD channel, you're totally hosed.

It was the Kansas game earlier. I mean really. Has anyone looked at a map lately? We're no where near Kansas.

Anyway -- back to the TV.

I'm wearing my 2002 BELIEVE t-shirt. It's the last year we were in the tourney. The shirt has seen better days. I need a new one!

I have that shirt.....i was tivoing in HD so I would have been screwed but luckingly i couldn't wait to watch the game and am playing hooky from work!

The excuse CBS gave last year was the limited number of HD production trucks and satellite space they had to put the "sticky" games in NTSC and stations not assigned games would get them in HD. The reasoning is that fans of a team will watch regardless of the video resolution. I'm seeing the Georgia game in NTSC here in Kentucky but the Temple game is in HD.
You think they would have it figured out by now a way to put everyone in HD.

Well the excuse of production trucks and satellite space is dog squeeze! Louisville just brought the game back up in HD! So I know they have HD production equipment at the arena and they must have satellite space to uplink it. I think CBS is just screwing with us!

How 'bout that steal from Gaines just now!

Very non-partisian announcing crew today.

big WTF to these refs.

Man, thought we had this one. Oh well, five months left until football season.

The refs took a proverbial dive.

Most of the game was well called, but in those last eight minutes the refs did indeed really blow chunks. Bliss's clean block, the touch foul call on Gaines, the no call on the over the back. Ugh.
Xavier is a legitimately good team though- no shame in the loss, just a lot of frustration.
And a lot to build on for 08-09. We'll be back.

EFFING REFS JOBBED US! Prevented us from making any kind of run in the end. GET OFF YOUR KNEES REF. Killer block Bliss!

I'm angry beyond words. That was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen in the 2nd half. Xavier did an incredible job capitalizing on the dirty officiating. 33 FTA to 5. You can't overcome 27 points from the line. WTF

It was broadcast in HD in Nashville and it was great until 1:27 left in the game when they went to the start of the dang KY game

For all the jawing I have heard from the Kentucky "fans" (and I use that term loosely), they got their comeuppance by choking in the first round, too!

From what I have heard, the Atlanta CBS affiliate does not broadcast any of the games in the first round in HD because it simulcasts all the games on the sub-channels. Accordingly, to save "bandwith," it broadcasts them all in SD. While I appreciate their effort to bring me all of the games, I would rather have only 1 or 2 games in HD rather. Also, you would think that they would at least do what it took to broadcast the UGA game in HD.
