Our long national nightmare is over

Georgia ended a five game losing streak, and won their yearly SEC road game tonight by beating the Auburn Tigers 59-54. The best news looks to be the continuing progress of Albert Jackson. Per Sportsline.com, Albert Jackson added 16 points and 8 rebounds on 8-of-10 shooting for the Bulldogs.

Over the past four games, Jackson has averaged 24 minutes and 9.75 points while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. He has also averaged 6.75 rebounds per game. All of those stats are *much* better than his full season stats.

After an injury plagued freshman year (shoulder), he has really started to come on over the past two weeks. If he could go for 10 points and 7 rebounds a game next year while improving his defense, lowering turnovers a bit and cutting down on the petty fouls, he could become a real asset for the Dawgs in the future.

We should do whatever it takes to keep Felton here. After a performance like this, he is sure to be courted by everyone in the nation. Nothing less than seven figures a year will do...

"Our long national nightmare is over."

It's a famous Gerald Ford quote used when he replaced Nixon after Watergate. It gets used regularly on the cyberwebs to indicate an overblown sense of hyperbolic sarcasm.

Cultural literacy, anyone?

Aww man, and we coulda won that game. You know, if every team were only allowed 6 players, Auburn would be top-ten.
