March 5, 2008 (Atlanta) –– Bosom Buddies’ 25th Anniversary of Celebration of Life Luncheon and Fashion Show: “Stronger Together,” presented by Georgia Cancer Foundation (GCF), will be held Saturday, March 8, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to celebrate breast cancer survivors, reflect on those who have succumbed to the disease, and honor those who have stood by them as members of their support family.PWD
The Westin Atlanta North at Perimeter –– located at 7 Concourse Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia, 30328 –– will host the event, which will feature a joint keynote address by cancer survivors Vince and Barbara Dooley.
“We’re extremely excited about this year’s event as it is another wonderful opportunity to honor these brave women,” said Rudy Morgan, GCF Executive Director. “The luncheon, fashion show, and the Dooley’s keynote address will make for great celebration.”
The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. with attendees gathering to enjoy a social hour, silent auction, raffle, and an exhibitor showcase. Guests will be escorted into the ballroom at 11:30, where lunch will be served as 2008 Celebration of Life (COL) keynote speakers Vince and Barbara Dooley deliver their inspirational address.
The COL fashion show –– the highlight of each year’s celebration –– will follow. Fox 5 Health Watch reporter Beth Galvin will emcee the show, during which breast cancer survivors, as well as a member of their support family, will model the newest fashions provided by Celebration of Life sponsor Belk at Phipp’s Plaza. Also supporting COL are Tanger Outlet Locust Grove and Bernadettes Hair Salon and Wig Gallery.

Vince Dooley, former head football coach and athletic director at the University of Georgia, underwent surgery in 2007 to remove a malignant tumor from his throat. Barbara Dooley, Vince’s wife, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and received chemotherapy in 2006.
The Celebration of Life Luncheon & Fashion Show is GCF’s signature event, recognizing all who have been touched by breast cancer.
