Anti-Fulmer Sign Lands Man in Jail

A Chattanooga man, Jeremy Boyd Eaker, was arrested for having the words "F**K YOU FULMER" displayed on a visible sign in his car window. The cops said the offensive language was visible to anyone who passed the car. My favorite line from the article
It was not clear whether the sign referred to a neighbor or to the Tennessee football coach.
The article doesn't mention the fact that Mike Dubose, Ronnie Contrell, and 146,543 Alabama fans have already ordered replicas of the sign for their own cars.

I wonder what his earlier rejected drafts were for the sign? Feel free to provide suggestions in the comments area.

What crime was committed? I don't agree with such signs (rednecks) but the F bomb wasn't spelled out. What's the difference b/t that and the old hippy-dopeeater stickers called "fukengruven"?

I've seen equally offensive stickers - such as Obama '08.

As someone who has one of those offensive Obama stickers on the back of his car, I would be more than happy to add a "F*** Fulmer" into the mix.

"I never heard those sermons!"

Yeah right.

Even if it was spelled out, see Cohen v. California for a Supreme Court decision on why publicly-displayed profanity can't be constitutionally banned without a requirement that the profanity also create or cause some breach of the peace.

Seriously did this have to turn political? This kind of crap has ruined certain other UGA websites.

He was in no way refering to Phil Fulmar the football coach. The sign was directed at a police officer on Signal Mountain whose last name just happens to be Fulmer. No doubt Fulmer had recentally arrested Jeremy, yet again which provoked the sign.
