Bulldogs Land Top 8 National Seed

I count myself among those who thought the Georgia Bulldogs would enter the NCAA baseball tournament without a prestigious Top 8 seed. I was wrong. The Dawgs got an especially tough draw of Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Lipscomb. The AJC has the full Bulldogs vs. Bees story angle.

The Schedule in Athens:
    Friday, May 30
Game 1: Lipscomb vs. GEORGIA, 3 p.m. ET
Game 2: Georgia Tech vs. Louisville, 7 p.m. ET

    Saturday, May 31
Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2, 3 p.m. ET
Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2, 7 p.m. ET

    Sunday, June 1
Game 5: Loser of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 3, 2 p.m. ET
Game 6: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5, 6 p.m. ET

    *Monday, June 2 (*If Necessary)
Game 7: Winner of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 6, 7 p.m. ET
If we win, we'll host the winner of the NC State regional (NCSU or South Carolina most likely).

just an FYI for you PWD, EA has released the team ratings for NCAA 09, and the Dawgs are 99 overall, 99 offense, and 99 defense. Tied for top overall spot with Ohio State.

Dayum! Respect. I can't wait to take #24 for a spin in a dynasty.

you people are really taking that regular season championship serious. in case you haven't heard, the SEC champion was decided this past weekend and it wasn't you. LSU won the tournament making them the real champions.

Yeah, asshole, just like UT is taking it's regular season basketball championship seriously.

Given that UGA is the National 8 seed, I am assuming that we aren't the only ones taking the SEC regular season championship seriously...By the way UGA was 2-0-1 against the "real champions" this year...

Man, a 47-year drought from 1954 to 2001. Ouch.

Gotta give Polk and Perno some props for putting an end to it.

UT shouldn't be taking their basketball one serious either. the whole purpose of having the SEC tournament is to determine a champion. if you are going to call yourselves SEC champs then why have a tournament at all? this doesn't go just for baseball but for all sports. we could just do like other conferences and name the regular season champion of any sport as the conference champions, which you people would have loved for football because then you would have had an actual arguement as to why you should be in the national championship but we choose not to this and hold a tournament or a championship game to determine the actual champion who clearly wasn't you after being ousted after just 2games. you people keep enjoying it because 3 years from now the only thing people will remember is who won the SEC tournament not who won the regular season.

Wasn't even thinking of it as an NCAA event. Wishful thinking i guess....
