Signing Class 2008: The Grades Are In

A.J. Green is on campus and impressing.  Marcus Dowtin got his transcript cleared up and has moved in, too.  So that leaves one guy who wasn't on campus, Toby Jackson, the highly touted defensive end from Griffin.  According to UGASports.com, Jackson won't be on campus in the fall, missing his needed test score by a single point.  Jackson will head to Hargrave for the fall semester.  If he improves his score, he'll likely be able to get to Athens in January.  Good luck, Toby.  Study hard.
With Jackson heading north, we missed a second consecutive fully eligible signing class by a single ACT point.  We still have plenty of depth on the ends with Lomax, Dobbs, Houston, Battle, Wynn, and Ball.
Considering the talent of the past two classes, I think one academic casualty is acceptable, if not admirable.

I am more impressed by Coach Richt and his staff everyday. That is one impressive signing feat. It is more than just signing bodies. If the boys don't get in, it doesn't do any good. How many AL guys didn't make grades....

During Meyers time at Florida he has consistently pulled top five recruiting classes. That being said he has only lost two recruits due to academic reasons...pretty impressive..

AJ Greene is the piece of the puzzle that everyone is scared to talk about. The guy is nasty and will be the #1 receiver by year's end. It's time to put the Michael Moore, Tony Wilson, Kenneth Harris type guys on the pine where they belong. We have acted like we are deep at receiver for the last two years and have nobody who can step up other than Mohamed. Kris Durham is a perfect third as we saw on the first play in G-day. Spread out Mohamed, AJ, Israel Troupe, Durham and Tavarres King and we have legit threats FINALLY! The others are a JOKE and I'm sick of hearing Dawg fans try and talk up their speed. Play the youngsters CMR!

so why is it that none of us 'fans' are talking about why/how Toby's score went from a 17 to a 24 back to an 18??

That's a tremendous swing and w/o some foul play, it really is impossible. How come no one is calling this kid out? does anyone really think he scored the 24 on his own???

just one fans perspective
