Georgia vs. Arizona State Tickets: Sold Out (except)

According to the East Valley Tribune and confirmed on the ASU official web site, the Georgia vs. Arizona State game is now sold out on a Single Game Ticket basis. There are no single game tickets available for sale tomorrow.

However, they do have 3,000 season tickets left for sale that include the Georgia game. These tickets are not in the $99.00 section (upper level endzone) according to the ASU announcement. In other words, they start at $149.00 each.

If there are any single game tickets available at the end of their "season ticket sales window," they will go on sale Sept. 9th.

So what does that mean for Dawg Fans who don't have tickets yet?PWD

Confused. So how is the UGA game the only one sold out (minus the 3000 season tix) and none of the others are? If single game tickets haven't been released yet then how is that possible? Did Stub hub get priority?

I was just told that the $149 seats are now sold out as well. Anyone looking to pick up the tickets will have to start at $210 now in the lower level endzone.

Current season ticket holders had the opportunity to purchase additional ticket for the game before the public.

Anon 1,

Season Ticket holders have been able to buy additional single game tickets for a few weeks.

I say 12-15 thousand, friend of mine bout the 25 tickets for one game package, we are in section 1. Cost was 100 bucks each after the donation was figured in

Thanks for the heads up! I was planning on buying a single game ticket tomorrow on-line. I ended up buying my tix tonight on ticketliquidator.com. 3 tix in sec. 230 for $93.00 each. Only bad thing was the additional $17.50 sur-charge.

My guess is 10k. I think our #1 ranking sold a ton of tickets to Sun Devil fans.

Any word on hotels and their proximity to the stadium or how to get to the hotels from the airport? I am thinking of renting a car, but I don't know the city and I don't know if there are any services. Never flown to an away game before. Any hints for travel preparations?

I say 9,000 or 9,001 Georgians in attendance, with the extra 1 fan counted if I can't find a friend or family member who wants my second Sun Devil season seat.

Add to that any local UGA alums who aren't already Sun Devil ticket holders who used the same strategy many of you used to get season seats just to watch the big game.

I see quite a few UGA t-shirts and sweatshirt around Phoenix all the time so I'm sure there is an alumni presence.

Anon 11:50,

Try the Sheraton Four Points near the stadium.

Rental Cars are available via hotwire for dirt cheap. You can get an economy car for around $20 a day.

Also...call the Tempe Convention and Visitors Bureau (google it). They can tell you where to stay.

Basically it's like this:
1. tempe - closest area. great college bars along Mill Ave in walking or short cab distance. modest hotels left near and some ok Sheratons.

2. Scottsdale - 15-20 minutes away. Best hotels. Most expensive hotels. Best grown up restaurants. Not all that close.

3. Mesa - 15 minutes away. Reasonable priced stuff with Hilton and Marriot brands. No night life.

4. Phoenix - I don't get the impression that you'd stay here.

There are some hotel chains with hotels in east Phoenix near the stretch of highway called Loop 202. Loop 202 is the highway that runs just north of the stadium. Marriott, Radisson, Hampton Inn, Doubletree. They're all very close to the airport and just 10 minutes away from Tempe by car. They won't be at the center of the party scene, but you won't be too far away.

From what I've seen and been told, the ASU ticket office is shying away from selling season ticket packages to fans with a GA home address. A buddy of mine called and they told him, in not so many words, that they wouldn't sell to GA residents for fear of too many UGA fans buying up the tickets.

Our group of six found a rental home that's maybe a ten-minute drive from the stadium for $200 a night total. The house is nice, too, with a pool and multiple bedrooms.

We reserved it via vrbo.com I think. I looked at some of the Tempe properties and there are quite a few with availabilities for the week of the UGA game.

there are some GREAT deals on houses to rent out there.

Anybody figure out the besy way to sell all the extra Season ASU tix we all now have? I thought I read that ASU was trying to coordinate a plan to buy them back but maybe Imade that up.

It looks like some people have had success selling their season tix minus UGA on eBay:

I received my 2008 ASU season tix in the mail via USPS yesterday, which means you East Coasters should be getting them tomorrow or Friday.

My buddy lives out in Arizona and his wife actually works for ASU. Having been to that area I can tell you the it is easy as everything to get around Phoenix. Every street is a number. Use caution when driving around Phoenix in the late evening hours. Parts of Phoenix can be rough. Sky Harbor is the name of the airport and it is about the size of one terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson. You will notice that when you pick up your bags at baggage claim. During that time of the year it will be hot to us coming from GA. But it could get cool in the evenings. If you get there before the game and are looking for things to do there is the Snake River and you can tube about three miles of river. The scenery is very beautiful. They also allow you to tube with coolers. Tubes are $20.00. But as it has been said if you drink make sure you do three things while in Arizona. 1. Drink plenty of water. 2. If you are going to be outside for a long period of time wear sun screen. 3. If your in the Maricopa county area (Phoenix) DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Sheriff Joe will have you out in the middle of the desert in a tent wearing a pink jump suit. Dead serious about that. Also we are leaving ATL on Wednesday and driving to FlagStaff which is a very nice area with resort type areas around. You can drive about 2 or 3 hours south and go into Mexico and buy cheap alcohol.

The game should be great and if you are out there for more then two or three days there is a lot to see and do and it is fairly cheap.

Sorry for the long post PWD.
