Georgia vs. Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl

It's official. The Capital One Bowl starts at 1:00 pm on New Year's Day. The game will feature two of the nation's best running backs in Jevon Ringer of Michigan State vs. Knowshon Moreno of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Personally, I think this is the most appropriate bowl destination for this team given the season we've had so far. MSU hasn't beaten anyone of note this season, and neither have our Bulldogs. It's a test to see who is most legit.

The last time we played the Spartans was the Gator Bowl following the '88 season...Dooley's going away party. Georgia won. Then again, the Bulldogs always beat Big 10 teams. We haven't lost to a team that was a Big 10 member at the time of the game since the 1950s. Since then we've beaten Michigan (1965), Michigan State (1988), Ohio State (1992), Purdue (1999 and 2003), and Wisconsin (1997 and 2004).

More later.

I'm excited about it. It's a quality bowl. Not what we expected, but a good bowl.

I have little doubt we will put up 30+. Having said that, will this new focus on tackling show results right away?

Oh, and The 300 sucked.

Amidst all of the profuse media sweating and man-love for Saban & what he's "accomplished" in his first 2 seasons at Alabama, we should remember that Richt's first AND second years with the Dawgs were both better years than what has transpired in Tuscaloosa. Anyone have thoughts on SEC Freshman of the Year?

Alabama, #8, rest assured.

I'll take AJ, but he didn't get the SECC game pub.

Another loss. Ringer eats up poor run defenses.

We suck.

Paul, you had great drinking/entertainment guides for Arizona and for the Sugar Bowl last year... are you going to do another one for Orlando?

Anon 4:35,

Not until I get my New Years Eve reservations ahead of you. lol

I also enjoyed your AZ drinking and entertainment guide. Can't wait for the one for Orlando (NYE parties, pre-game drinking, and maybe a restaurant or two). Thanks and keep up the good work. GO DAWGS!!

I think that we should roll in this game if our defense steps up. And speaking of that Willy Martinez better hope they do or he might get fired.
