A great gesture

Knowshon Moreno took out a large ad in the Athens Banner Herald today to thank the fans for their support. It's a very classy gesture. Here's the online version.

Knowshon Moreno. I have a serious man-crush on the guy.

THAT is a DGD.

your weekly slagging of the basketball team is a little late, paul.

"weekly slagging of the basketball team"

Slagging? You really think that's what I post about them?

Right.

It amazes me how fast some UGA people have turned on Knowshon and Stafford for leaving. We all hate that this year didnt end up with the BCS Trophy, but you'd think Stafford in particular said something bad about someone's mama.

Knowshon and Stafford played hard every second they were on the field, they didnt get in trouble, they improved every season, and during the season, and they never complained, showed up their less talented or effective teammates, or failed to speak highly of their coaches and their school.

In the old days, those were the kind of players you wanted representing your school. Now, for some people, if you dont win it all, especially if you leave early, you're overrated, or selfish, or whatever.

all I can say to the two of them is thanks for playing your hearts out for UGA, and good luck in the pros!

Best of luck to KM and MS in their future endeavors. I will definitely have a couple of new favorite NFL teams next year.

I really hope the Cardinals can get KM next year. He might be the only hope they have of making those awful white helmets look good.

Probably one of the classiest moves I've seen. We should be thanking KM, not the other way around. Either way, I'm even more enamored with him now. Best of luck in the NFL. Here's to Knowshon becoming the 4th Dawg to win SuperBowl MVP.

Hopefully with the Falcons!

Awesome. Love that guy.

KM is a DGD! For the bozo's who think he took himself out of the game for inexplicable reasons, go watch tape of Moreno pass blocking. He's every bit the blocker Thomas Brown and Tony Milton were (2 great ones).

Why would you want Knowshon to get drafted by the Atlanta Falcons? Honestly, ya'll have Michael Turner, why in the hell would the Falcons waste a draft on someone they dont need?

Be serious child...

No one seems to wonder where he got the $$$ for that. Even today in the era of declining circulation, and even at the ABH, full page ads are a little pricey. Very classy, but this sounds more like an agent at work to me than anything else.

Anon 9:32,

You are allowed to talk with agents when you're in College. You are allowed to select an agent while you're in college.

You're just not allowed to take money from them or sign with them.....until you declare to go pro. I have some visibility into this process due to friends who've gone through it.

His new agent probably fronted him the money for the ad as soon as he signed. That's common and acceptable per NCAA rules.

who cares whether if an agent paid for it. I would reason it was Knowshon's idea and that's all that matters.

Kris, because I want the Falcons to win a SB! Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that out.
