Reshad Jones is Staying

The ABH says that Reshad Jones is staying at Georgia. He will not enter the NFL Draft. The deadline to file for the draft is today. According to their article:

The deadline for underclassmen to submit paperwork to enter April's draft is today. The official list will be released Monday by the NFL, following a 72-hour period in which underclassmen can withdraw their names from the draft.

It'll be interesting to see who else declares across the SEC once the smoke clears. Update: Speaking of which....Harvin is gone. Spikes is staying.

Wow ... I am surprised.

I expected him to declare and possibly pull his name out in the 72-hour period.

We Dawg Fans can only hope that Spikes and Harvin quietly submitted their names.

According to ESPN Harvin declared he was leaving and Spikes said he was returning.

I had a feeling Reshad Jones would stay. I think he knows he's not ready for the next level. I think he just wanted to scare everyone a little bit because he's received so much criticism this year.

Spikes is no big thing, he'd be the 4th best LB in the Big XII. Seriously, he'd be AT BEST the second best LB on our team.

Said another way, I would take Rennie over Spikes any day of the week. Let's quit worrying about what other teams do or have or don't do or have, and focus on GATA!

USC's Mark Sanchez is out.

Good. I'm not one those people who wanted Jones to go. Glad you're coming back, Reshad!

Wow!!!!!

Destiny??????????

In 1958, the Lions traded Layne to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Layne responded to the trade by supposedly saying that the Lions would "not win for 50 years," although it has never been confirmed that he said this. As of the end of the 2008 season, it has been 50 years since the trade, and indeed the Lions have not won a championship in that time.

Robert Lawrence Layne (December 19, 1926 – December 1, 1986), was born in Santa Anna, Texas, USA. He attended Highland Park High School in Dallas

I'm so horny for Tebow and Spikes next year

Glad Spikes is coming back. Now Chapas can blow his @ss up in retaliation for his dry humping of Knowshon this year. What a jerkoff!

This AM I heard the guys on 960 say "with Asher and Reshad gone..".

Not knowing the story, I absolutley assumed that he was transferring to another school. I was convinced CWM had given him a stern shakedown after seeing his attempt to "tackle" Javon Ringer in Orlando. He probably realized Bryan Evans (Bryan Evans!) had passed him on the depth chart and Banks would be returning soon to do the same.

I find out he thought the NFL was calling. The NFL? Are you kiddin me? Reshad Jones makes Keilan Johnson look like Ronnie Lott.

He has the talent, that much is obvious. He is almost always in position, he just seems to miss on closing the deal. It'll click for him eventually. Even when BVG was bringing in the talent, CWM was working with the 2ndary, and we've got to assume that Jones will have that click moment finally soon. Next season, he'll be surrounded by younger players, no doubt, so he'll need to step up bigtime.

someone mentioned recently in a Reshad-related post about the "hypocrisy" of the coaches for "throwing players under the bus". If you want to see Exhibit A, check Pete Carroll at Sanchez's press conference.

ps - why am i not surprised that Sanchez got national pub, but I couldn't see Staff and Knowshon's conference on tv in Atlanta...

Actually, ESPN talked non-stop about the Staff/Moreno situation. I got so tired of watching the clips from the press conference and hearing people talk about their departures, I had to just walk away from the TV...

Good news about Harvin. I wish him the worst.

Reshad made all this noise to get attention. He has a long way to go if he ever hopes to be successful at the next level. I wasn't too upset when I first heard he was leaving and was kind of disappointed when I heard he was coming back. Hopefully he changes his ways.
