Your Moment of Zen

Today's Photoshop gem comes from Spencer Hall (aka Orson Swindle).  It compares the differences in Matthew Stafford's Wonderlic score and Percy Harvin's score. Good times.

Stafford Scores a 38

Average for a Journalist is 26.

I thought for sure some Journalist would have used that as a self deprecating line.

USC's Mark Sanchez scored 28.
The average for a QB is 24.
Alex Smith allegedly scored a 40.

I'm the only one who is taken back by how freakin' smart Stafford seems to be?

I am sure you mean the average for a j-school grad. Not to get to Howard Cosell on you, but real journalism is dead. Punditry rules.

Last week it was Corrine Brown, now Percy Harvin scores a 12 on the Wonderlic.

Top 1% of 1% indeed.

I would like to see an analysis of wonderlic score to actual ability. Say 7 years after a guy takes the test, evaluate his career and do a simple correlation even.

Wonderlic might matter in terms of a team passing on a guy and his falling. Each spot a player falls cost him money. Brady Quinn and Aaron Rodgers can give you specific dollar amounts.

I believe he scored the same on the test as he did against us.

Also, if Stafford were allowed to use his 38 Wonderlic points in the 2008 Florida game, we still would have lost by 1.
