UGA placed in the Tallahassee Regional as 2 seed

This will be tough to recreate given the schedule.

The NCAA just announced the bracket for the 2009 NCAA Baseball Tournament (as of 1:00 pm the bracket had typos affecting the right side of the page). Georgia has been shipped off to the Tallahassee regional. The teams slotted in our region include:
    1. Florida State
    2. Georgia
    3. Ohio State
    4. Marist
The Tallahassee Regional is bracketed with Oklahoma for the Super Regional. UGA vs. Ohio State airs at 12:00 pm on Friday on ESPNU.

By comparison, the Georgia Tech regional includes:
    1. Georgia Tech
    2. Elon
    3. Southern Miss
    4. Georgia State
They are bracketed against the Gainesville Regional for the Supers. UGA lands in the second toughest regional behind the UC-Irvine bloodbath, and Tech gets a pillow fight. On the bright side, Tech won't advance far. That's just how Coach Danny Hall rolls.

Unfortunately, Tech may get far. While the Gainesville regional is very competitive, UF got a gift getting a national seed and both Florida and GT have outperformed their actual ability this year. Unless Elon or Miami can do something about it, one of those teams is going to get to Omaha. Too bad.

I'm not too upset about this draw. Yeah, it is competitive, but Marist isn't a factor and Ohio State was the runner-up in the Big Ten. I'd say that's about equivalent with a Southern Miss team that was third place in C-USA. If anything, FSU got screwed more than we did because we're a stronger 2-seed than Elon.

Regardless, if we can't get the bats going and get by FSU, we're not going to win the CWS and the point is moot. Now that we're in and have broken the odd-year curse, all I really care about is winning the whole thing. Where we end our season (short of Omaha, at least) is really irrelevant to me.

If we do get by FSU, I like where we'll be. FSU should have been the national seed instead of Oklahoma and we obviously know we're capable of beating Arkansas if they get by the Sooners.

It could be worse, they gave Ga Southern a 2 seed and shipped them out west in the Cal St. Fullerton bracket. Ouch.

Funny how the Tech fans come out of the woodwork like cockroaches whenever they think they're in a relatively better position than us. Then they scatter, again like roaches, when the light bulb that is reality turns on.

Want some cheese with that whine, PD?

First comment was spot on. More maturity would be nice.

Gotta love the Jackets showing up on here bashing PWD for stating pure facts...
1. Tech's bracket is garbage. This is the equivalent of a late February non-conference weekend series (or ACC conference series unless it's against Clemson, UNC, Miami, or FSU, everybody else is sh*t). If they don't make it out of this easily, then they shouldn't have hosted in the first place.
2. UGA's bracket is tough for obvious resons, but also because UGA is in it instead of Elon as the 2.
3. Not sure what UGA will do, but I am confident that Tech will make their usual pre-Omaha exit somehow. Unfortuantely Tech douchebags, your program just flat out sucks where it counts most.

If somehow they do slip into Omaha, I am sure it will be by virtue of lying and cheating. I know, I have seen it too many times first hand. There's no other way.

Stay classy 10:35. Your parents must be really proud of you.

And he's not stating "pure facts," he's whining his face off that Tech got the "easier" bracket.

UGA did NOTHING down the stretch to deserve any breaks. GT's bracket, who cares?

What are Techies doing on a UGA blog anyways?

Um, so Tech fan is saying that the Atlanta regional is not a "pillow fight"?

Perhaps "tickle pile" is a better description?

For the record, the blog post post-LSU losses was crying in the cornflakes. But ragging on Tech is not whining. It's fact-stating.
