My Dad and I have reviewed this video several times to confirm that we do see the group he was with sitting on the tracks, but we never have been able to spot him. I wish I could have just spent one day on the tracks...just one.
It's from 1975 (give or take 1 year). And there isn't an equivalent. James Brown was one of the biggest musical personalities of the 1960s and 1970s. He was from GA, and he was performing a song about the Dawgs.
So basically...if JayZ were from Savannah, and he wrote a song about Mark Richt with a kick ass funk beat and performed it at halftime.
This song is not played nearly enough during games. If only we could get a Mark Richt version. But then that would require a tenacious defense worthy of the Junkyard Dawgs' moniker (sorry Willie) and a live James Brown.
Awesome lyrics for an awesome time to be a Dawg fan.
More than anything else music/band related, I wish the Redcoats would spell the G at every home game, and in Jacksonville. If you don't get chills seeing GEORGIA walking off the field then you don't have a pulse.
Fella thinks it from the '77 Ga-Fla game. http://patrickgarbin.blogspot.com/2009/07/junkyard-dawgs.html He's definitely right about Brown performing at the Prince Charles game against Ky in 1977--I was at that one and remember it well.
The video is from the 1977 Georgia - Florida game. The week before, Brown performed at Sanford Stadium when Prince Charles made that halftime appearance.
The only bad thing about it was that Georgia lost both games.

I'll dream of this during the next "Boston medley" at halftime.
HELL YES.
Makes me want to go knock down the East endzone stands...The Tracks...from what I can remember, good times...
The Redcoats actually did a James Brown tribute show last year...can't really blame them.

Isn't this video from the WLOCP?
What would be the 2009 equivalent?

Just saying.
Maybe Outkast (I know not as big as the Godfather) can write something about Evil Richt.
I used to love the bass line the band had. Back in the day...and yes, I saw a game from the tracks...
Thanks for the reminder...
Why in the heck would we want Outkast to perform at halftime after Big Boi did the same thing at Tech?

They were on the sidelines in '07 for the oSu game. You can see Andre jumping up and down during a long Thomas Brown run down the south sideline.
Think anyone has reached out to Gnarls Barkley?
Dangermouse was a student at UGA in 1999 or 2000 plus Cee Lo is a big UGA fan. I think he has a G tattoo on his arm.
Did anybody here the 960 interview with Donnan today?
Seemed like he was calling out somebody at The Ref for statements made about Donnan's discipline problems.
What's the story?
I see Pastor Troy on the sidelines all the time at the games... maybe we can get him to perform.
"We're big, we're little, we're............but yet........"

I wonder what it would take to persuade Mastodon to record something like this about, say, wrecking Tech...
The Grammy's really whiffed on that song. It's awesomeness can only be usrped by it's funk.
