Comcast finally adds ESPNU in Atlanta

If you're in Atlanta and a Comcast subscriber, check channel 298. I know Comcast is upgrading their network in ATL so everyone may not have it yet. But that's where it is for me. (ht - hecfj00).

My North Atlanta neighborhood was upgraded with the better Comcast package around July 20th or so. So, I'm all set for the SEC Primetime Football Game at 7:00 pm on ESPU.

No ESPNU HD so far with Comcast.

I love uverse but I'm the last house on the block thats able to get it where I live in Rome, GA apparently if you live more than 3000 feet from the phone box in your neighborhood your not able to get it. I work for AT&T and they haven't said anything about being able to address this anytime soon.

I really need ESPNU HD to show up. Also, ESPN360 is up and available through Comcast.

Comcast's ESPNU SD looks terrible - it's like watching a bad Internet feed on your TV. Oh well, at least we got it.

It was also recently added to Comcast in Washington DC. It's either channel 723 or 730, one of those is ESPNU and the other is ESPN Classic. Neither is offered in HD, yet.

Nice - good to hear. The package I've had for a couple years just got NFL Network added back to it, and now I'm gonna get ESPNU too. Now if only Comcast can figure out why I'm not getting ESPN Classic... any northwest Atlantans with the Digital Premier package having this same problem?

AT&T Uverse destroys comcast. If it is available in your area, i highly recommend making the switch.

FYI - whatever your current comcast bill is, tell them an even lower price. They are into matching the price just to steal business from comcast.

Charter in Athens offers espnU only with the premium sports package. Any idea if it will be opened up to regular customers?

Again, Knology?

Anyone?

NFL Netowrk and the Espn Classic sort of swapped packages. Espn Classic is now on the sports package that NFLN used to be on. I for one, think it's a fair swap. Oh yeah, if you're stretching SD on an HD tv, it will look like squeeze...It looks much better displayed in 4x3.

Comcast is currently working on a major upgrade of HD in the ATL, I think they'll eventually get EspnuHD added to this package.

If/when Comcast adds ESPNU HD, it STILL won't be in HD anyway. Most cable companies around the country "compress" their signals, especially HD signals; so even if a given show is being broadcast in 720p, the signal you get is roughly the equivalent to 600p (which is not HD, but instead "enhanced definition").

The refs seemed inclined to give Okalahoma State a very good spot althouogh the Georgia Bulldogs had stopped them short of the first down
