Last Time

Gordon Biersch ran out of beer, people were scared to use the desert excrement ovens (bathrooms) at Sun Devil Stadium, and Knowshon took flight again.

Knowshon was such a beast.

Sad that win carried zero weight. Hope we are able to obtain yet another meaningless win tomorrow.

I'll take all bars in Athens not running out of beer and the points.

How big was losing Ellerbe last year? He was playing like a man possessed until he got hurt against Alabama.

Anon 12:11,

Cheer up! Or if you really want to be depressed think of it this way, they are all meaningless wins unless you actually play or coach. I like to celebrate every win because nobody knows what will happen unil the season plays out. It also was not a meaningless win, it shut up the critics that said that UGA never leaves the southeast playing all over helps the UGA brand. I know what happened the next week but you've got to think long term and long term that win the the desert helped us.

Yea, cause it really matters what the pundits think about us and where we play football at. The gayturds never leave the south and it doesn't affect their perception by the media.
I had rather stayed home and played a Div-II team to see if it would have helped the following week.

what song is that in the video?

How can you say this week is a meaningless game? If we win, we carry momentum into the LSU game and start setting up a showdown for the SEC East in Jacksonville. If we lose, this team will have no heart the rest of the season.

anon 8:57,

Ask an Auburn fan if who you schedule matters, it cost them a title in '04. The gators are still #1 this year because they won it all last year. After we win a national championship we can play Charleston Southern.

anyone know how to watch the game if you dont get ESPNU but I do have espn360. I hope I dont miss this game.

GA'n lost in 'ssippi said...

Doesn't look like espn360 will carry it either. I'm in the same predicament without the digital tier on comcast. Therefore...off to a sports bar I go.

anon 9:59,

Do you have any clue what you're talking about? Auburn's schedule had nothing to do w/ them not playing in the NC. Preseason Rankings did. Please take a look at USC's and OU's schedule that year and try to tell me they were so much tougher than AU. USC and OU started the season ranked 1 and 2. Auburn began the season nowhere near them.

ANON at 11:47 -

Just call charter (or whatever cable company you have) and order ESPNU. For Charter, it costs $5 / month and it will be available to watch within 10 minutes or so after ordering.

Then, tomorrow, call them up and cancel that channel. They'll prorate the $5/month for the 1 day you have it, and it won't cost you much of anything.

The only problem is it won't be in HD... there is no ESPNU HD.

Yeah, i really hate the no ESPNU HD, sucks

dear aj, thank you for beating the sun devils tonight. please encourage your team to show up next week. i realize bobo nor martinez have a killer instict, that as soon as we get up by a score or two they forget about you, and i'm sorry. you know it's always coming back to you because we can never put anyone away. take some extra time in the ice tub, get an extra long rub down or massage, i know it must have been rough on your back, carrying the entire team to victory. thanks again!

This team is looking more and more like the Patriots during their Superbowl runs...the ones where they barely won every game. Then went on to win the superbowl. Every game I get to half time wanting them to just lose so at least the freshmen get some play time. Then they come back and win it to get my hopes back up...at least for a week...

I was pissed off when the announcer said that 3 of the STARTING OFF. LINEMEN for ASU were out after the first half and we were still not getting sacks w/o blitzing....esp. during the epic 6 blitz streak by Willie. Which he did 6 straight times, then they got a good gain and he stopped blitzing again.

Our defense finally made an appearance this week. To bad we kept putting them in tough positions with the turn overs. This is just one of those teams that get it done some how some way. Scrappy!

So I guess we're back to firing Bobo.

Dumb@$$ Dawg fans are tiring.

In college football, there is AJ Green...and then there's everyone else.

A.J. and the defense showed up. Students didn't- pathetic to have the rest of the stadium full and have swaths of empty seats in the 300-level NE corner and west end zone.

Scott Summers said...

I was in that NE corner, in the rain. I showed up. Don't put all students in the same category. The Georgia faithful were there. And by the way, there were many patches of empty seats in the "oh so honorable" non-student sections. We have midterms to study for, what's your excuse?

Russ Fortson said...

At least the game was on ESPN(F)U so that no one so this turd. The defense did play better, though the ASU offense did a pretty good immitation of the GA offense with the drive-killing penalties.

Oh well, a win is a win.

Anonymous said...

Scott Summers- get your facts straight before making accusations. My excuse? I have none- I was there, in section 129, getting poured on, too. Way to step up and show up.

ESPNU HD does exist on Time Warner. At least they call it that

Unknown said...

ESPNU in HD on Comcast 883.

I had it.

I believe that the student section from 109 to 113 was filled up by 5:45 pm. I know because I was there at 5:00 to get drenched on. Don't generalize the student section just because the endzone and 300 section didn't fill up. Thanks.

I think a lot of students set with their parents who have club level tickets. I know at least 20-30 people in my fraternity alone who did this. And plus there were PLENTY of empty seats throughout the stadium. To take a shot at the students is ridiculous.

UGAfanINclemson said...

I don’t know anything about empty seats because I didn’t get the pleasure of being able to attend.

But I would like to say that I would like to start a donation collection for the rehiring of Brian VanGorder. I miss defense.

I also miss the idea of offensive packages for Logan Gray in the red zone. Joe Cox is better than anyone ever expected – in many ways. No one can say how good he would be if given two years to start for the Dawgs rather than Stafford. But, in any case, I don’t have anything against him – I think that despite his mistakes, the only times the team seems focused is when he seems in control.

But Gray, despite his quarter-speed “let me lay down so you can hit me” keeper last night, has the ability to run, and even break a tackle or two on occasion, so why not use him in a short yardage red zone situation? Or Smith or Boykin on a toss? Throw me a bone here, there are so many talented Dawgs this year collecting dust….

Really? We're criticizing the DEFENSE after this game?

The same defense that gave up 10 points, 7 of which came after ASU started on our 37?

The same defense that forced ASU into a 3-and-out with 6 minutes left, then another one with the game on the line with about 4 minutes left?

The same defense that allowed 204 total yards, and 4-of-13 on third down?

The same defense against which Sullivan was 10-of-32 for 116 yards?

The same defense that allowed 0 first downs in the fourth quarter?

This was far from a perfect performance. But we're criticizing the DEFENSE? Really?

Anonymous said...

The defense really played heads up ball. This turnover differential is what is really killing us this year and is what has kept teams in games. We can't seem to deal with that so far this year. Hopefully those near last stats on the defensive side of the ball will be a little more respectable following the game and keep improving. I know the defense wanted to play well for Willie.

UGAfanINclemson said...

Well, I would not want to glorify the offense, I just don't classify penalties by the ASU offense as "heads up" play by the defense.

Unknown said...

If you're bitching about the defense... about this game....I'm not sure what game you watched.

200 yards of offense and 10 points

They aren't the '85 Bears or whatever, but that's not the game you come back and say "the defense was the problem."

If you want to find a glaring problem....our RBs are at the front of the line.

3.6 yards per carry by Samuel and King not including the 80 yarder by Samuel that was mostly the doing of the offensive line. Hell, Kiante Tripp could've housed that one.
