UGA vs. UT kickoff time announcement postponed

The Chattanooga Times-Free Press reports that CBS will use a six-day option to decide the game time of the UGA at Tennessee game.  They are televising UF vs. LSU at 8:00 as part of a double header.  The 3:30 slot will have one of the following:

UGA at Tennessee
Bama at Ole Miss
Auburn at Arkansas

The Chattanooga paper says the other two teams will play around lunch time.  There are no ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU night games that week.

I still think we end up at noon or one of the ESPN networks, but I guess if Ole Miss lost at Vandy this Saturday, we beat LSU and UT beats Auburn...our game would be more interesting.  Who knows.  If you're planning...it's not a night game regardless.

I can't believe that CBS would pass on the #3 team in the country Bama. Especially with all their tradition. If UT beats Auburn they are 3-2 and when we win it will be 4-1 top ten team vs a team out of the top 25. It would definitely take Ole Miss getting beat for our game to be considered.

Yeah I doubt we get the 3:30 time slot. No love for Georgia.

What?? CBS is not even considering Vanderbilt at Army??? WTF??

Strangely enough, Arkansas/Houston is probably the most entertaining game available that weekend.

Not to get completely ahead of ourselves, but what is the TV outlook for the Vandy game? I'm gonna be stuck in West Virginia for a wedding.

Houston?

why does espn not air any night games that day? Because CBS decided to use its night doubleheader on that day i presume?

Dammit, I don't like noon games. CBS can suck on my third testicle.

Anon 4:32: Early starts tend to work out well for the road team. The '01 Tennessee and '06 Auburn games were both early, if I recall correctly, and we did pretty well in those.

I'm sure there are examples of it not working out, but on equal terms, I think an early kick favors Georgia in Knoxville.

2007's trip to Knoxville was an early kickoff and that didn't work out so well. Also something that shouldn't go unnoticed is that our only loss this year came during an early kickoff.

The 2007 Tennessee game started at 3:30 PM. The Oklahoma State also started at 3:30 PM. I think in order for a game to be considered "early", it would have a kickoff around 12:00 - 12:30 PM.

Well, if you believe Orson, we'll loose this game either way. The Ginger Ninja apparently can't focus his skills during the harsh light of day. I, for one, don't believe this particular internet meme, but another daylight loss, and it may gain some traction. Cox could be like Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. If it comes down to it, we might have to get together as fans and provide him with some tanning creme.

Whoops, read the press release wrong. Mississippi State is at Houston, not Arkansas.

Nevermind.

TWD: 3:30 kicks aren't early kick-offs, I'd only consider a noon/12:30 kick early.

Again, I'm sure there are exceptions.

I was out of the country for the ASU v. UGA game and missed it. I recorded it at home, but the massive flood interrupted my AT&T U-Verse and I got nothing - but I don't like it. Anybody know any way I can watch a replay of the game at this late date?

Replays of all SEC games for free. It's great.

CBS has exclusive, SEC-windows with its broadcasts. That's why you don't see SEC games at the 3:30 mid-afternoon window.

Can't see us being on CBS 3x in the same month ...
